DJM-800 Broken
First a little background; last weekend I was playing a gig and the venue provided me with a stage and a table but there was no set so I had to bring my own set consisting of a DJM 800 and two XDJ-700's. Near the end of the gig, people started to climb on the stage and the table got accidentally knocked of the stage. I was able to catch my XDJ's but the DJM-800 fell down 3-4 feet. The circuit breaker got tripped and we had to end the gig.
Yesterday I started checking for damage and I didn't notice any major physical damage on the DJM apart from some minor scratches and bumps. But when I turned on the mixer and tried to play stuff I noticed the following issues:
- There is no sound coming from the master channel (also no indicator lights). Sometimes I get some sound from it when I wiggle the master knob or shake the mixer but then it cuts out again.
- Channel 3 keeps cutting out at random intervals (sometimes it works for 10 minutes, sometimes even longer, sometimes only for a few seconds)
- There is an enormous amount of noise coming from channel 1
- And the most shocking of all (pun not intended); when I touch any of the screws or headphone jack I get a major electric shock that actually hurts. I measured with a multimeter and there is actually 220v between ground and the metal body. However, it is not tripping the ground breaker.
I already ran diagnostics and all of the knobs, faders and buttons are working.
I'm wondering if it's going to be worth it to send it in for repair. I already contacted some local repair centers and they all ask around €40-50 euros for diagnostics because of the many issues. One of them said that it is almost sure the power supply will have to be replaced (which will already cost +200) because of the voltage leak. Is it worth repairing or should I buy a new mixer since this mixer is already 8 years old.
Thanks in advance.
