Djs1000 midi sync issues DDJ-RZX

I have a DDJ-RZX AND A DJS-1000. I’m having troubles trying to get the DJ S 1000 to receive or send messages through all connections. Yes it would be nice to have full control but if I could just get midi time clock to work!!! Am I missing something internally or some third-party piece of software to make this work.
