I'll ask you to continue the conversation in the ticket you already have open with our team.
Thank you.
Two days ago, I purchased a new silver DJM-S9.
This is the condition of the faceplate paint after TWO DAYS of light use.
(and no, I don't have sharp nails...)
This is absolutely pathetic for a mixer at this price point specifically marketed at scratch djs.

Hey Shigura, sorry to hear that. Can you please take a couple of photos from other angles?
As requested. Again, please note, this is after two days of light use, and I don't abuse my equipment and have never had an issue like this with any other mixer I've owned.
What good is a scratch mixer that's too delicate to scratch with?
I've passed this to our product team for inspection. No, it certainly shouldn't look like that, but without knowing what happened to it - I would guess something rough was rubbing against it from what I can see in those photos (micro-scratches).
I thought I was clear, let me be clearer. The only thing that has been "rubbing against it" are my WELL MANICURED FINGERTIPS.... you know, those things that tend to rub against a mixer when you, use it? This isn't my first day as a dj and I know how to treat my gear. This is 'rub-off' paint, not scraping. Should I show you pictures of the Rane 62 I've used for 5 years without faceplate damage? Should I give you the names of the 4 friends so far who also own s9s who have heard about this and told me they have the SAME PROBLEM? Or, could we just resolve it like grown ups please?
Thanks.
For the record, yes, I realize this doesn't prove anything.
Just in case you need it for your case file of "deadly sharp objects that destroy our faceplates" then. For research...
Dear Pioneer Rep,
I have since been informed that the 'first gen' run of s9's had this issue, and that you offered at one point replacement face plates for this very problem.
I'd like to arrange that please.
