DJM-S9 - Sound Cuts out during playback (rekordbox & streaming platforms)

During playback of any music via USB from my computer to my DJM-S9 the sound cuts out completely from both channels and the sound level bar no longer lights up. The only way I've fixed it is by turning it off and back on, and then the problem occurs again. 

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers 
checked firmware (1.09)

I am currently running Monterey 12.1 on MacOS

Please help I miss using my S9 lol
