2000 NSX2 No buffer at start and end of track/song

When I cue up a song it starts directly at the beginning of each song. I can not scroll back, Cursor on jog wheel will not go back like a normal record. ie a buffer of silence before the song starts/space to drop the beat in. You can not scratch or cue up a song like you would a normal record on a turntable. Any info appreciated. Jog wheel cursor will not move backwards any further than the exact beginning of song. I like to cue manually like I would cue up a regular piece of vinyl. I hope it's a simple setting?
