djs-1000 / djs-tsp file sharing

I don't know if I am misreading things or what.

DJS-1000 with Link over ethernet says "File sharing function supports USB connection only".

Page 25 of the DJS-TSP manual states

Connect DJS-1000 and DJS-TSP Project Creator via Network to share projects in DJS-TSP Project Creator. You can also share samples of a selected folder.

But few lines below things get weird:

To set up File Sharing function, connect your computer and DJS-1000 (USB-B terminal on the rear panel) as the figure below using a USB cable. To connect multiple equipment connect using LAN cables.

Then on page Page 28:

Projects and samples stored in a computer connected via network can be used on the DJS-1000. When this feature is enabled, [LINK] is shown on the screen for each function.

Soo.... should I be able to load samples into DJS-1000 over the network? If yes, why do I get a message about sharing working over USB only. If no, why does the manual states that I should and what is the purpose of the LINK feature then?

Soo, judging by the posts in this very forum dating all the way back for 2018 this feature never worked. Damn, Pioneer, Denon is going to eat your lunch if you can't even get advertised features to work after 3 years.

Yes, you can load over the network using the DJS-TSP application. If you want to link to it via USB, it creates a virtual ethernet device, for which you need the drivers.

Thats where the problem is.

DJS-1000 connected through the same ethernet and a switch as the CDJs and DJM, which are working.

DJS-TSP detects the DJS, LINK gets initiated and a message immediately pops up on DJS "File sharing function supports USB connection only".  I do not want to use USB for any of it. Ethernet-only.

File sharing enabled, Guest user allowed to connect to file share. Ran "repair permissions" in DJS-TSP. Even put everything in my Public folder.

I have verified that I am able to access file shares as guest from another computer, but DJS-1000 keeps coming up with the same exact message no matter what I try - "File sharing function supports USB connection only"

@Pulse Is this ever going to work as advertised? File sharing over ethernet was literally the main deciding factor for me when I dropped a rack of cash on this thing. I would like to know if this feature ever existed and if  did, where did it go and when can i expect it back?

I see you are not the only one left without answers.

Have you found any solution to this?

I would like to  transfer file from my laptop to my DJS via USB using the Project Creator application as it is presented in the manual and Pioneer website.

Right after I bought the item about 11 month I reported the issue. I had mount error 112. It was sent after a month of troubel shooting to Pioneer service. They sent it back without a fix, saying it is cannot be fixed. I was contacting the costumer support again. I was told it is a hard fix, asking for my patiance.

I recently contacted Peioneer again and ask bout the fix. I was told, it is a fatal error. It is very hard to fix, thanking again my patience.

So I would like to know hwo come Pioneer can just get away with selling faulty items? Or providing fix and solutions to this, as it is an old issue.

How come that some people actually able to make those file transfers without any problems? How come my machine has a fatal error and no one offered a replacement on my brand new unit, or discount, anything.

I would be very happy if this USB file transfer issue could be resolved. My MPC 4000 10 years ago did that without a problem. I do not really understand how Pioneer top end sampler is not able to do that.
