on the fly beat grid adjust xdj xz

I have just come from the DDJ 1000 to the XDJ XZ and miss being able to move the beat grid using shift and the jog wheel.  It appears I can only adjust beat grid on the fly when using USB however I wish to use my laptop and 4 channels from time to time.  Is there a may to add this feature or map it myself?
