Exporting from rekordbox to USB more than once?

Hi,

I know the title might seem odd, but my questions are basically this:

1. I have a pair of Sandisk Glider and takes for ever for 100 tracks, is it normal or which sticks are faster?

2. This is the most important question for me, I organize my playlist by folders inside rekordbox, basically I create a Techno folder then inside that folder a create months ( let say oct, nov, dec) I export the first time my folder to my USB with the 3 months, but then i download more tracks for december; I want to export again to my USB let say only 10 tracks more that I added to december... why does it take that much again.. rekordbox asked me a folder already exists that if i want to replace it, i said yes because i dont know how to do it.. is it possible to just export those 10 tracks to the proper folder and the proper month automatically?

How can  I overcame this, basically my problem is if i have a collection of 100 tracks and i download 10 more does it export all the previous 100 again?

First, those USB drives are garbage quality; check out these read/write tests submitted by users, looks like the average write speed is around 8MB/s. Get a better quality drive and it will be well worth the cost.

Second, it sounds like you're making a mistake in the export process -- are you moving things around somehow? That might be causing the secondary export and thus taking more time. It should only ever have to export the file(s) once, and then add new files the next time.

@pulse that is what I'm looking for for better USBs. No I'm not moving things around, what I meant was for example, I have a folder in rekordbox that says techno under that folder I have playlists with month names. I just created December and I added 50 tracks and then yesterday downloaded 10 more it starts the process saying a folder already exists

What is the process, step-by-step, that you're taking to export?

1. Export folder to USB
2. Done

That doesn't tell me what you're actually doing - are you right-clicking on the folder from the playlist and selecting "Export > USB" and then it starts the export, prompting you that the folder already exists?

Yes sir, that is how I'm doing it. I thought it was obvious as no other options is offer. I export the folder as that is how is organized. As of now I'm using the music for the past 3 months from.each genre. Like I said, I have a folder for the genre

Techno
-December
-November

I click export folder and I get that message which is to continue basically or cancel out.

Also I know you have a very detailed USB chart... Any personal preference or recommendation to have a faster export from rekordbox that won't die soon and are good quality?

Okay, I follow you -- you're trying to export the parent playlist folder, and that already exists so it wants to replace it.

Have you considered using the Sync Manager instead? It will automatically transfer the contents of the selected playlist folders / playlists to an export device without worry of re-export or duplication.

Regarding USB drives, my two (current) favourites are the SanDisk Extreme Pro USB3 and the Corsair GTX USB3. Both are ridiculously fast.

There is to much models there ... How do I know what type of USB works with pioneer equipment... Does all 3.0 work? Does 3.0 SSD work? Does my xdj Rx supports ... If you can recommend some.usbs would be great place to start

Not all devices work, we know that the Corsair Survivor and Survivor Stealth drives are problematic, mainly in XDJ units, but SSDs do work - I have a Samsung EVO 850 in an Inateck enclosure and it works just fine.

Is there I guide on how to use that feature of rekordbox I have seen it but I don't get it how it would work to export my newly added music to a particular playlist into my usbs

I see those two USBs you mentioned work with cdjs and my xdj Rx?

So basically I see a column for rekordbox with all my playlists and an other with the device playlists.

Let say I download another 10 tracks for December I add those tracks to the playlist... Once in sync manager do I just check the folder and the month playlist and will automatically export those 10 new tracks?

The Sync Manager is ridiculously simple:

1) Select your export USB device

2) Check that box

3) Check the box beside any playlist (or folder; sub-playlists will automatically be checked) you want to sync to the USB device

4) Click the big arrow and wait

5) Click the Close button

If you add more tracks, just open that box and repeat step 4 - click the big arrow.

Yes I get it.

One last thing, right I kbow I have my USBs current, but let's say I download today some tracks and I already have the sync manager as you described on you picture once I plug my USB to my PC I basically have to open the manager again and then do step 4, correct (assuming I already added those tracks to the playlist)?

Rekordbox 4.2.5

With a 128GB PNY Elite USB 3.0 Flash Drive @ a listed write speed of up to 180MB/sec, it has currently taken over 24 Hours and counting to export 15GB. I had the same problem when drive was formatted fat 32, this time I erased the disk and reformatted in mac OS X , same thing. also this is the 2nd thumb drive I've tried (Much better faster than the 1st) same problem. Laptop is Mac pro running 10.11.6, 2.8Ghz I7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. I shouldn't be having this issue. What is going on ? I understand the process, so I really don't know what else to do. Been dealing with this for 4 entire days. Any realistic suggestions would be helpful. Please keep in mind, I've already re-installed the software and re-anylised all files.

Update.......

switched drives again from the PNY Elite to A Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 and everything seems to be working fine now. Just exported 16GB in about 3 Min. Pioneer ....Maybe U should create a list of compatible drives or maybe brand your own. Just wasted 3 days and 200 bucks on two flash drives that weren't compatible.

I have another question pulse... let say since my drives are 16 GB... i want to delete from the drive 2 playlists which would allow me to export 2 different playlists. example;

i want to delete September and october playlist and add december and january playlists ( assuming all of the playlist are 2GB) so basically i want to export the new two playlsit so they can fit my drive by deleting or freeing the space of the past months ( sep-oct) can this be done by the sync, or simply just delete  those playlist and add the new ones

My model number is the SDCZ88, and it's worth every penny.

Always buy the most expensive USB drive or SSD you can afford, it will never be a disappointment.

Pulse, I encountered something with this method hopefully you can respond.

How does this work all the way around, meaning, let say I sync 2 folders to mi USB, golder A and B; after that I no longer need A and B, i want to put in  C and D but i have no space on the USB. I tried to uncheck  A and B on the sync manager and check C and D but that didnt work as it did not removed A and B.
