Have you thought about the xdj 1000 mk2? They kind off the same as the nx2 but with out cd and less features. I bought the xdj mk2 and they pretty bad ass. Cost less then the cdj nx2

If you want to use hot cues you should not aim for the 900 nexus. Keep in mind you also have the posibility to buy a pair of used 2000 nexuses. That would be my choice in your situation.
