Pioneer XDJ-R1 - lows sound distorted

When attempting to play from a phono source, only the lows sound fuzzy and distorted. Audio through the headphones sounds good. 

Master and trim control is properly set to position. 

Line and phono selector switch on rear panel is properly set to position. 

I am experiencing issues when using both XLR cables and red/white.

This also happens when I play from deck 1/deck 2.

Have you tried using the line inputs with other sources?

Have you used the turntables with another mixer?

Trying to narrow down the possible trouble sources.
