DJM-S5: audio delay b/w headphones output and master output

Hello,

I've just bought a new mixer DJM-S5 and caught a serious problem.
The master signal is delayed for maybe less a second compared to the headphones output and it makes mixing impossible. You can hear it clearly even by blending the cue between master and cue (mix position 50\50). And this is not normal at all comparing with other pioneer mixers. The delay is steel exist while using Serato INTernal mode (without external vinyl control).

My dj setup: macbook pro (m1, thunderbolt), serato DJ pro 3.0, technics SL 1200 + original serato timecodes, active monitors KRK, DJ headphones (sennheiser HD-25).

Cables: usb type-C (laptop-to-mixer), XLRs 2m (master-to-speakers).

I don't have any additional processing components in my dj setup. I've tried to restart every device\software - doesn't help. I've tried different  vinyl control modes (ABS, REL, INT) of Serato - doesn't help. I've tried booth\master2 RCA outputs to the same monitors - doesn't help.

Are there any active digital options of DJM or any conflicts which create the issue? I couldn't find any similar FAQ for this model.

Please HELP!

I've already updated the firmware to ver. 1.03 - it doesn't help. Well, It works normally (without the delay) if NOT to turn ANY options at Serato and for some short time. But if I turn on, for example, master tempo at Serato then two tracks later the delay increases.
Dear Pioneer, please help me to decide if I should return the mixer to the shop or the Company works with this problem.

hola Kate, tengo el mismo problema, y pioneer aun no me da la solución.

quisiera ponerme en contacto contigo para crear una comunidad de usuarios DJM S5 y verificar quienes mas pasan el mismo problema.

I just purchased the s5 and i noticed the same thing, i reconnected my traktor z2 to make sure i was experiencing what i was experiencing then i tried all my computers and they all did the exact same thing! im very disappointed in pioneer and the support because they dont seem to know anything about the things they are payed to know about! it seems to me that when they tested the s5's before sale they didn't use a real mixing dj to test becouse if they did we would not be experiencing this very notable thing...

Acabo de actualizar el FIRMWARE y al parecer se soluciono, pero sigue un leve retraso después de usar los FX

Unfortunately Pioneer hadn't answered me for 10 days, so how I solved this problem:

  • I've tested S5 with different laptops (intel, M1, MacOS from high sierra to big sur)
  • I've tested S5 with Serato software v.2.x.x & v.3.x.x
  • Then I tested DJM-S9 with the same software & iOS - and it worked WITHOUT this latency
  • I've returned S5 to the store.

The problem is still relevant for firmware 1.00, 1.03, even without using FX - just wait 5 mins.

I'm sure the problem is with S5 but I can't figure out why Pioneer hasn't fixed such major problem for over 6 months. Or why such a problem has't even tested before the release.

Same here and the official dealer service here says everything is fine. Tried everything changed cables, with power adapter, with different version of Serato the problem always comes up. Tomorrow I will be to this service center 3rd time to show them once again this headphone delay error is not magically gone after they touched it.

iv noticed over the years that pioneer will stop responding if they dont know how or care to fix there issues. im over pioneer!!! im gonna take the S5 back and possibly get the Newmark Scratch, iv used it and its sold and works forsure and its allot cheaper, Or ill keep my money and save for a Rane Seventy then i wont have to stress about functionality and a company ignoring there obvious problems... maybe if they test the S5 buy acutely mixing without  sync they would see or hear what we are trying to get through to them...
