Track Separation / Part ISO - MIDI Mapping the EQ Knobs

I am having trouble figuring out the midi mapping for the EQ knobs on my DDJ 800 when Part / ISO is enabled. I've mapped a button to enable Part / ISO, and in Rekordbox, the software shows it enabled, and the knobs (in the software) change to Part / ISO functionality. However, when I turn the knobs on the controller, they still control the EQ levels. When I try to map the EQ knobs to Part / ISO tracks with Part / ISO engaged, it tells me the EQ knobs are already mapped.

Is there a way to map the EQ knobs on the controller so that they control the Part / ISO when Part / ISO is engaged, and the EQ frequencies when Part / IS is not engaged?

EQ controls are ALWAYS EQ controls because they're "audio-first"; unfortunately you'll need to use another controller for those functions. Sorry!

Ok, thanks for replying. So just to be clear, the Part ISO function will work in Rekordbox if I want to use a mouse to control it, but the DDJ 800 unit won't accommodate anything other than mute / unmute for stems? If so, is there any consideration for adding the Part / ISO function to the DDJ 800, so that the EQ knobs could be used to control both, depending on the ISO mode (Track Separation / EQ)?

Unfortunately not as the EQ knobs are unable unlink the audio control function.

Quick question, If EQ controls are ALWAYS EQ controls because they're "audio-first" how is it possible on the flx 10 to have both controlled by the same eq knobs when switching between part iso mode? They are both midi controllers are they not ? A little confusing.

Because it's purpose-built and has a shifted mode; enabling part ISO for the EQs changes the commands for those knobs.

"Unfortunately not as the EQ knobs are unable unlink the audio control function."

Sorry, but this isn't correct.

I just used the midi editor and deleted the mapping of the EQ knobs from EQ High/Mid/Low and mapped them to the Part ISO Inst/Vocals/Drums and it worked exactly as you'd expect with the EQ knobs now controlling the track separation parts. But this is currently and either or. you have to load midi mapping to swap between them.

So this is entirely fixable in software and I hope that it gets fixed in a coming version.

Southwood, your mistake was you didn't delete the mapping from EQ first. Here's my mapping with the deck 1 knobs mapped to the Parts.

I don't know what is the function or the "PART" button if you can't use your Eq knobs when is activated 😂😂😂, the solution that works when it will fixed is mapping and don't use the EQ function

If it’s purpose built and can’t be done how comes in virtual dj you can swap between stems isolation and standard eq’s on literally any MIDI controller or mixer. The program is the brains of the operation not the controller. I get you have the ddj flx10 that you want people to buy but you don’t need to lie.

Matt, thanks for your reply. I actually considered deleting the mapping for the EQ knobs, but I wanted to check to see if there was another way to do it without losing the EQ functionality. I may actually delete the mapping for decks 3 and 4 and map those to Part / ISO, and keep the EQ mapping for Decks 1 & 2. That way, if I want to load / play a track that I want to use Part / ISO on, I'll load it to Deck 3 / 4. But having to switch the selector between the two, and keep track of where I left the knobs for that channel is a hassle. So I won't be using it for performances or recording live mixes to post online. But it's not like the stems feature is good enough to use professionally anyway at this point, so maybe more of a practice thing. But thank you for confirming that's possible.

Hola, buenas tardes. Seria ideal que en la proxima actualizacion se agregue esta funcionalidad que se entiende logicamente que es cuestion de software y no limitacion de hardware. Se agradece la colaboracion. Saludos.-

On the DDJ-1000, since I hardly use decks 3 and 4, I've deleted the mapping for the EQ knobs for decks 3 and 4 and re-mapped it with Part ISO to be used with decks 1 and 2, that way I still have EQ available while being able to control stems volume. This is pretty much how I have it now.
