No Fader

You'll hear it here first, when is Pioneer going to develop a mixer without the "fader"?? I really never used it since 10 years ago, so why incorporated into your higher end mixers?? It just gets in my way, and can I take it off? and if so will my DJM-800 still work?? thanks PIONEER, I still love you!!!

I second Robert.  Why?  What exactly does it get in the way of you doing?  Why would they spend time and energy modifying a production process shipping a high end product for the 3 people in this world that think a crossfader is a nuisance.

I think I can be pretty certain in saying that mixers will almost always have a crossfader (I don't use mine either for what it's worth) but plenty of DJs do.

As long as you have the crossfader settings set to Thru I can't imagine you'd have a problem but why even bother risking it? You risk damaging the unit once you open it up... Plus it'd certainly look less aesthetically pleasing with just a piece of metal over the opening.

Well, honestly it does get in my way. And the only Dj's that I know, only use it to scratch with, so I just want to use my mixer to mix with. Rotary kit is available to use on the DJM-800, so why would you not have something to take away the crossfader if you so please. Modification is the next level of product use that PIONEER USA should look into because as you can see not everyone sees eye to eye. Peice modification using genuine PIONEER equipment will be a sexy selling point.... And I just wouldn't put an ugly piece of metal over it, besides, most of the crowd could care less as long as I rock the show B-), peace and be blessed..

@Dj Trend > Sorry, I can't say for certain that it would work without the mixer in place, but Pioneer will likely never release a mixer without the crossfader.  That's like saying that there shouldn't be a heater in your car because you live somewhere warm and only ever use the AC... keep in mind that the car is also sold in markets where it's cold and they need the heat!

Thanks Pulse, "for certain" is the key words ;-) . Besides, I'm speaking about a sound mixer, I could care less what a car has, thanks.

Yeah I am with Pulse having a mixer with no crossfader is like having a cdj with no pitch control.  Many djs do not use it anymore or use it a lot less then others but that is no reason to take it out its still an essential part of mixing.

That's what Dj's were saying about vinyl, cd's will never take off. I just feel if I pay that much for a mixer, shouldn't we have an option?? When you buy a new car, you have a choice to have options right Pulse?? I mean, we all have an oiption on how we set up our mixer and players right? I'm just one for option.

The need of one does not move the masses. Kinda sums up why this won't happen anytime soon.

What about designing it to unlock and spin around where it is blank on one side and fader on the other. There is always room for compromise right??

Not yet Pulse, I wanted to know if it's safe to do. In otherwords if I take it off, will the DJM-800 still work fine??
