[SOLVED] CDJ 900, DJM-700 SETTING UP THROUGH ABLETON LIVE 8

I am really struggling to get my decks and mixer to run through ableton live 8.  I want to be able to mix my tracks as normal through my decks and mixer and use ableton live to add effects and launch loops.  The mixer has no usb port so am already at a loose end as to how I connect it to my macbook pro and map it to ableton.

The last time I used decks was the old school way, technics 1210's mixer, amp speakers job done.  Its no doubt simple when you know how but unfortunately I don't.  Would really appreciate the help,

Thanks,

Mark

@Mark > You need a MIDI-to-USB adapter or soundcard which has a MIDI-in port.  Do NOT get a M-Audio Uno as there have been users reporting incompatibilities with that particular device with the DJM-700.  Do you currently have a soundcard for outputting the audio from Ableton to the mixer?

I have a mac book pro which I am sure has a soundcard built in. Thanks for getting me of the start line, I will order one and see how I get on.
Will I be able to produce on ableton and hear it through my speakers that are plugged in to the mixer once I have this adapter?
Appreciate the help :-)

for sure you have found the solution mate till now.

To connect djm700 to my pc with ableton 8 I use the cheapest (€0.99) midi to Usb cable from ebay.

I works flawlessly with ableton, it connects in no time (turning on/off the midi from the mixer).

Then I just seperate the audio output in two monos and I have two channels on the mixer.
