S’abonnerDJM-T1 - Send/Return Fx possible?
Realise this needs hardware send & return jacks, but is there any way to route the T1 to get a post fader delay tail etc? Traktor has the sen/return option, but not sure if there is a virtual way to connect it up.
Cheers
Keith

Thats a huge dissapointment. I upgraded from the Vestax VCI-300 and Serato Itch combo which had post fader delay (where the mixer faders actally controlled the software) with the assumption that this combination would too but it doesn't. It seems that having post-fader delay wasn't even thought of by Pioneer and shows it wasn't designed by real turntablists. I remember this was the case with the DJM-909 built in effects too. Now I have to carry an extra effects unit (kaos pad) with me to gigs. The problem with is I can't assign individual channels to the effect unit as there is no hardware built for that on the T1. This defeats the purpose of an 'all in one solution' that Pioneer claims with the T1.
What is the send/return option in Traktor for anyway? I realy hope Pioneer works a solution out as this is vital for true scratch DJ's.
@Red Wood > Because the effects within Traktor are assigned to a channel and not the master, this isn't a possibility -- and that's not a limitation of the mixer but the software itself.
There is no effective send/return option for Traktor (that I've seen, although search the net and see what comes up).
In my 'INPUT ROUTING' in the options of Traktor, there is an 'INPUT FX SEND (ext), mabey a solution could be worked out using the some or other output (maybe booth output) as a send and the Aux input as a return. Is there a way of individually sending each channel to the booth at chosen times when the effect is needed?
I'm just trying to work around this issue. Can you think of a way to do this?
Red Wood, I think that simply add a new effects to the Traktor.
@RedWood > Sorry, the DJM-T1 doesn't have the provision to send an auxiliary output to an external device then back to an input for fx routing.
So there is no way to hook up RMX 1000 I just ordered from Pioneer to my DJM-T1?
Not as an aux send & return as the RMX should be set up.
Only the master out of the T1 into the stereo in of the RMX, but that's not ideal.
Would it sound better if I use 1/4 Booth out FX then into RMX instead of Master Out RCA output then into RMX? I was thinking to use Booth Out FX so that way I can atleast control the sound with the nob. Please advise. Thank You!
That sounds like a good work around if you had another mixer in the chain after the RMX and T1, then you would use 2 channels on that other mixer and the RMX would effectively be used as a send because you would have your wet and dry signals and control over each. This is not ideal as you would need to carry an extra mixer with you to gigs, unless where ever you are paying has one already, and also you can't effect each channel individually. But going straight into the RMX with the main output of the T1 has a similar effect with wet/dry knob on the RMX, (I don't have an RMX and I assume it has one). Then your entire signal i.e. you left and right deck in Traktor would be effected simultaneously when both are played.
This is my biggest problem as I only want to effect my scratches and not the beat that is playing on the other deck. I have now just accepted this drawback for what it is and using the Traktor effects pre fader.
Hey thanks for the response. My RMX1000 is coming in a few days. I guess I'll just have to figure out what I can come up with... Is it possible to use ReKORD box with T1? thanks!
@marKUS > The T1 is for use with Traktor - thats what you'll get most value from. There isn't any functionality with rekordbox.
Is this really not possible with a firmware update or an update to the DJM T1 Setting Utility? I'm really surprised that Pioneer didn't add the needed I/O to use Traktor's Send/Return option. This seems like a huge oversight as the T1 could have been the first mixer to market with "built in" post fader fx, now that the Z2 is out the T1 is missing this awesome feature.
