Also, I have my firewall turned off. Any help would be great. I looked on here for any other posts like mine in case this has been answered but it looks like no one else is having this problem.
Hey there Pioneer,
I am using a Mac OS X and trying to update my DJM 2000 with the new firmware (mine is currently v 1.22). I've read the manual and done all the steps right but the DJM Firmware Updater is stuck on the "Waiting for DJM Connection" screen. I have tried turning off my DJM and back on, unplugging the LAN, and even redownloading the updater, but to no avail. Can anyone help out? It would be greatly appreciated.

The new features that the DJM firmware update provides is crucial for me as I am performing for a couple of parties coming up. Any help would be hot.
ALSO, I tried updating the mixer using another PC and it still wouldn't connect. It connects and disconnects off and on so the firmware client is constantly waiting for the mixer to connect.
@Mr. BlaQ Have you turned off Wifi and connect a LAN cable from your Mac to DJM-2000 ?
Yes, I have done this as it is the only way to update the mixer. I am still unable to update.
If you've followed the update instructions, connected your Mac direct to DJM-2000 and turned off Wifi and it still doesn't work, than I can't help you... :(
I have the DJM-2000 and it hasn't been any problem for me to update the firmware.
I see... I really hope my mixer isn't broken because I really need this update and I dont know if I'll have time to send it in and get it fixed.
@Mr. BlaQ > When you connect the LAN cable, are you making sure that it's connected to the COMPUTER 1 connection? What is the status indicator showing for your wired network on the network settings? Is the wired connection first on the list?
Pulse,
The cable is connected to computer port 1. The status indicator flashes from connected to disconnected over and over again. When the DJM is finally connected and the computer has an ip, then I attempt to update but the status of the firmware remains in the "waiting for DJM to connect" stage.
What is the IP on the LAN connection?
The IP is different everytime it connects, I will monitor the IP and record it for you.
The IP my DJM is giving me is:169.254.169.109
However, once it update mode it sometimes sends no IP at all.
Tried it in update mode, and the connection was stable for once. The DJM sent this IP:169.254.163.19
Yet, when I tried to update, the Firmware Updater kept waiting for the connection from the DJM
a 169.XXX.XXX.XXX IP address is a local host loopback. It is basically your computer assigning a null IP address. Basically, you aren't getting a proper connection to the mixer for one reason or another.
Could be as simple as a bum network cable. Always the easiest and cheapest fix to try. Beyond that, you would need to try turning off your Wi-Fi and connecting directly to your modem or router and seeing if your computer hits the internet. If it does, then your NIC on your mac is okay. If that is the case - try updating with a different computer. Even if you just have a friend bring over a different machine and see if you get the same results on your mixer.
Troubleshooting network connectivity can be time consuming, but it is methodical. Start with the easiest bit to swap out and move up. Change 1 variable at a time until you find the failure point.
There have been just a few users who, for whatever reason, aren't able to update their DJMs using a Mac's wired connection -- you may need to use another computer to update.
I had this problem with windows ,It turned out to be the cables supplied with 2000 ,as soon as I robbed the cable from my router it connected and the update completed in minutes after three days of head scratching !
Hey All,
So It's been about a year now, and I still have the same problem. When I attempt to update my DJM 2000 on using my mac and an ethernet cable (I've tried multiple cables) my computer receives no ip from the DJM mixer. When the DJM 2000 is not in update mode, the computer recognizes it and receives an ip. However in update mode the computer says there is no ip address and then quickly says ethernet cable disconnected. I am still using firmware ver 1.22 and would really like to update my DJM to the latest. Could anyone please help me out?
Thanks
It's also worth noting that I have tried the update process with a pc. When the updater is start the process stalls at "Waiting from DJM 2000 connection." The status bar on the mixer itself does not progress.
Do not update, your mixer Will get F****D. Read more in the other djm2000 firmware thread. There are plenty of them!
Wow, really?? That SUCKS. Oh well, I hope they release one soon. I LOVE this mixer, it might be the best I've ever used. If they release a new one without fixing the one I have I just might go planet of the ape shit!
Really, most on screen fx as well as the you have will become quite useless with the 2.0 firmware. The whitenoise effect will also be useless.
He is right!!
absolutely! I was too late reading the stuff and jumped on board days after the 2.01 release but it screwed up a lot of stuff. I would advice new customers or existing djm-2000 users to wait for a new update (if it will ever come)
Well, there is a firmware update as of 13th Nov 2012 but it's the same version# 2.01 and only to add support for OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.

Fingers crossed this is not the update Gavin was referring to in another thread and hopefully there will be another update before the end of November! :)
Its just a driver update for the soundcard.
That is just a driver update. A firmware update for the DJM2000 is coming soon.
Hey everyone,
So my DJM 2000 is STILL unable to connect to my computer. I have tried several ethernet cables and 3 different computers, yet still there is no IP coming from the mixer to the computer.
Any luck yet?
I was having the same issue. Windows vista. Changed cables. Turned off wifi and firewall. Just wouldn't work. Then I disabled the network adapter then turned on again. Software and djm2000 were all ready and waiting and boom, it worked. Had tried for hours to get it sorted and now happy to have won the latest Microsoft battle :-)
