Dont think the levels of the effects can be changed. Just dont turn the knob all the way up.
Hi, I just configured the DJM-900 NEXUS. Everything works fine. But when using the the COLOR FXs they are too loud and I wonder if I´m able to adjust the level of the COLOR FXs?

I really wish you could change this.
I think the resonance on the filter is way too high, makes the levels fly through the roof rendering it unusable (at about 2-3 o'clock).
Ditto with the noise effect.
I would have hoped it could be achieved by changing a setting in the menu, but even if this was do-able there would be the 'DJs wont know how the mixer is set up at different venues' response - a response I would consider moot as DJs would be in the habit of setting up the mixer to their own preferences when they begin (as they already are with CDJs).
May be an adjustment in future FW updates...
just tool around with the menu on the screen. that is how you would change it.
what menu on what screen? there are no adjustments like this in the DJM menu
I mean the menu ware the beat FX are displayed. you can change settings on your mixer with it. I don't know about the colour FX.
press the utility button for more than a second. the user setup mode should come up.
I know that utility brings the menu up but I don't recall effects being able to be adjusted in there and set
yah it was just a theory I own a 800 not a 900. the 800 is still great but the 900 is better!
yeah, theres no way to adjust this, there was adjustments made in a letter version of a 900 FW that made the filters sound more like the 800
you mean change the hi and lo pass filter on a DJM 900 so it sounds like a DJM 800. maybe now we are getting some ware? the guy who made this thread says there is to much volume on his colour FX. he has a DJM 900.
yeah, if he followed the updates and updated the FW update in June, 2011 states
also, all these updates have been added to since then, a lot based on the efx area

his mixer should work with out the update though. sorry I only read the first one. I noticed on my 800 when I use the filter on the beat FX that at some frequencies as it filters through the song my lights go up 3 or 4 lights with mid. often I have to put the FX level/depth knob to a 1/4 but often have it higher.
I am looking at my 800 manual to see what functions the display has other than FX, BPM's and midi clock. all I could find was the midi snapshot.
I +1 for the menu to have a option where you can select say a "Colour FX level" or "Colour FX Parameter" or something. The most legit would be if you could have menu options for each individual Colour FX
@Armand > That is an unlikely update as each DJ would have their own preferences and should a club have multiple DJs performing, it would be an issue for each one to check and/or change the settings prior to their performance. Sorry!
@Pulse,
Yeah thanks for the reply. You have a valid point there...
Maybe like in the future you guys could have settings like those on the mixers, BUT then they automatically load with each person's individual Rekorbox settings that then also gets loaded the same way you load your custom settings on a CDJ when you insert the Rekordbox flashdrive.
Like the mixer must also access the flashdrive through pro link and then it could work like that, hope you understand what I am meaning.
BUT I am extremely happy with my Nexus setup as you could imagine!! Thanks for all the hard work you guys do
@Armand > Thanks! Yeah, I'm sure that kind of idea is in the pipeline as they have a "MY SETTINGS" feature in the CDJs as well as the RMX-1000. Hopefully!
Thanks for your support.
@Pulse,
Okay awesome thanx.
But guys yesterday night I again realised how loud the filter on the Colour FX is. I always play till I hit the second orange LED on my channel VU meter.
Engage Colour FX filter and it jumps easily 2-3 leds in level!!
Hope you guys can adjust this in some firmware update
@Armand > That is normal due to how the filter works with the curve it has. I don't anticipate this would be changed again as DJs who like the way it sounds now would be upset with Pioneer changing it to a lower level.
If you are using a system where there is no headroom on the filter being engaged and increasing the levels of those specific frequencies by a couple of dBs, you may wish to lower the volume level as compensation for the increase due to the filter.
