and yes Ive updated the firmware
Specs:
Laptop: i7, 8gb RAM, dedicated graphics and fancy soundcard with windows 8.1
software: traktor pro 2
hardware: cdj400
Problem: when I connect my two cdjs to my computer via USB with no hub I struggle to get them to work in traktor. I checked device manager and I have the following items listed
CDJ 400
USB DEVICE
USB DEVICE
USB DEVICE
the computer recognition of the devices is sporadic but it always picks up 1 which is listed as CDJ400 and USB DEVICE
the second cdj is shown as USB DEVICE and USB DEVICE either with no alert triangle or with an alert triangle
basically the computer refuses to recognise two CDJs however traktor has (on occasion recognised both as existing)
I have been battling with this for nearly 4 days and cant see any solution in sight.
I have tried different USB cables and ports on my computer and none seem to provide better results.
I also tried plugging them into another older laptop I have which recognised both devices as CDJ400s
Im stumped...

Someone else had the same problem with Win8.1 posted yesterday, let me get a bit more info and see if the engineers have any ideas.
Can you tell me whether you're using them connected to a USB3.0 or USB2.0 port on your computer?
I'm using usb3.0
Thank you for your assistance
We're following this in two threads now and have opened a ticket with the engineers to try and address the issue. Thanks for your patience!
Okay guys, something I've found that might help you (if the USB2.0 hub trick doesn't work) is this MIDI driver utility:

You can actually use it to solve some USB device conflicts.
