Rekordbox doesn't work on ML.

Been testing it since february, and it partially works, as long as you don't start analysing/importing new files, which will corrupt your RB library.

Thanks for letting me know. I've installed on my iMac but I use my MacBook for Rekordbox. Glad I checked first.

I'm running Mountain Lion with rekordbox 1.5.3 and I've imported and analyzed lossless AIFF files via iTunes bridge without any problems.

Link between my CDJ-2000's and rekordbox works fine and headphone cue via DJM-2000 to rekordbox works fine.

Recording via USB from DJM-2000 to Ableton Live 8 works fine as well.

But you better wait till Pioneer says it's OK to use rekordbox with Mountain Lion...

For some reason, bridge doesn't work for me, but AIFF importing and analysing does work (I was testing it on MP3 before). As oakstream said I'd wait for pio to officially make it compatible - still way too buggy for a live environment.

Just upgraded to mountain lion, now it wont link with my CDJ 900s :-(

I guess I should uninstall 1.5.4 and go back to 1.5.3

Any other advice??

for what it's worth, I installed Mountain Lion last night and have been testing RB 1.5.4 and have no issues, imported about 100 new tracks today and it went smooth and my 2000's linked to RB as usual and I could play

Nick, Did you do an upgrade or a format and fresh install? Upgrades always suck in my opinion, I always do fresh installs when changing OS'. I would try to go into networking settings, remove the ethernet network, hit apply, then add it again so it resets all the ethernet settings to a fresh start, Plug in the decks and see in the ethernet settings that you do pull an address like 169.xxx.xxx.xxx.

As stated in another topic, Pioneer's unofficial statement is that users should wait until they have had the opportunity to test all the drivers and software with the new operating system.  Users who wish to upgrade do so at their own risk.

I have it installed and 1.5.1 seems to be working okay. I just imported a few mp3s and they analyzed fine. I'll check Link later.

Reporting back...

Analyzing, linking, etc all worked on my Retina MacBook Pro running Rekordbox 1.5.1. (I never upgraded b/c everyone seemed to have issues after that, but 1.5.1 has been running like a champ for me.)

In related news, the DJM-2000 driver still works for me. I recorded from vinyl via USB as well.

I wish I had known about this before. I installed Mountain Lion a couple of days ago but was able to analyze at least 30 tracks last night and even put them into different playlists on my USB as well as set initial CUE points.

I'm running Rekordbox 1.5.4. I did find it to work a bit slower at first but after a while it seemed to work fine with a bit of lag. I was able to do everything I needed to do though.

I'm a DJ that uses USB on CDJ-2000s when I go to clubs. I have a gig tonight and now I'm a bit worried about what is going to happen when I go to the club and plug in my USB stick :(

Going to bring a backup USB stick with no Rekordbox intervention just in case and leave my MacBook in the car. I'll let you guys know tomorrow what happens. Cheers.

Hi all, thanks for the comments and advice.  I have it working now on Mountain Lion with Rekordbox 1.5.4

But it took a bit of turning things off and on.    I was also rather freaked out when i had no ethernet cable connected to my MacBook Pro but still was linked to one CDJ but not another.   I guess thats perfectly possible as the CDJ was connected to my WIFI hub.

Anyway, thank god for that, Im off to have a mix now.....

Hey everyone! Just reporting back.

Went to the club last night and plugged my USB into the CDJ2000 with no problem. All of my tracks were analyzed, Playlists were complete and CUE points were set. On a bonus note, I played the best set of my life.

No problems here. :)

Can confirm a clean installation of OS X Mountain Lion and restore from Time Capsule has worked a treat, Rekordbox 1.5.3 working fine... it wasn't working with just an upgrade, no real surprise there.

I found this article helpful as it also leads to how to create a USB bootdisk to use as your fresh installation.

Happy Rekordboxing.

Just wanted to update my post that I had actually done the upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion. I have no issues. Perhaps I got lucky?

I took the risk and it's running smoothly for me too. It's actually crashing less on startup now..

@Vicrep > The engineers have asked if you could provide a bit more detail as to your problem, and if you would mind trying with an empty library.

My suggestion for creating a new library would be to rename the entire rekordbox folder (located at /Users/yourusername/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox) to something like "rekordbox-old" - don't close this Finder window then launch rekordbox.  You will likely be asked for your license key -- close the program and in the finder window you'll see the two rekordbox folders, copy the license file from the "-old" folder to the regular one and launch rekordbox again.

Try importing a few songs and see if you encounter any errors or issues and let us know how that goes.

@Pulse > Thanks for getting back to me... I've done what you've said, and here's what happens (same problem on both 1.5.3 and 1.5.4).

Rekordbox doesn't show iTunes (v10.6.3 rev25) in the bridge. I then tried to manually import some files. I imported some WAV files, with no problems. They analysed smoothly, and I was able to load them with link in my CDJs. However, when I tried to import some MP3s (320kpbs), rekordbox crashes immediately, and my library gets corrupted. Only way to relaunch RB without it crashing at startup is to delete the library.

Its strange that I'm the only one here having these issues. Perhaps its because I've been upgrading my way since the first developer preview. I'm currently running the release version though (rev 12A269).

I did an upgrade from Lion.  Using an Imac and I only use Rekordbox for organization -> External Hardrive

I've notice that every once in a while, I'm finding a track in Rekordbox, playing it, and it is the wrong file.  If I ask it to show me the file in the finder it brings me to the wrong file.  The only way I can correct it is to delete the track and re-import.

Never noticed this before, and it is rare, but I've been doing a lot of organizing , moving, and getting rid of tracks, and I noticed about 5 tracks yesterday that just switched while I was working.

@jamboe - I've had that happen in Lion, too. It isn't a Mountain Lion specific error. It's a Rekordbox is coded by a bunch of retarded monkeys type of error.

yeah, thats definitely NOT a mountain lion issue, I have seen this since RB was originally released, I would have to "relocate" the f'd up ones

It's happening a lot, I'm doing some sorting right now and found a few more.   Good thing I haven't been erasing these tracks.  I have to go back and find the right one and re-add.

So we still dont have a working display to correct for the problems caused by upgrading to 1.5.4 and now we have this problem too. ridiculous.

I just got the new retina macbook pro

Any updates on rekordbox''s mountain lion support? Will it be retina ready too? (I think it's beneficial to see the wave forms better as it'll be clearer to read)
