Provide as much detail of the issue here:

I have tried everything I can possible think of to make my brand new CDJ-2000 Nexus units work with RekordBox 2.0.1.  They will link and they will show up in Rekordbox...however, every time I drag a track onto one of the decks, I get a big message on the CDJ's that say "Media Or File Is Collapsed Or Unavailable" then below it, it says, "E-8302 Cannot Play Track (C658)".  If I try to enter the Rekordbox mode on the CDJ, it sees my iMac, but does not see any tracks.

My computer is a 2011 iMac 27" i7 running Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion.  I have tried through a router, without the router, with just a simple unmanaged switch...all with the same result.  I have tried to connect to it over wireless instead, and I CAN see the decks wirelessly....however the same message when I try to drag a track over to them in Rekordbox.

-I CAN however wirelessly send tracks to my iPhone from Rekordbox, THEN connect wirelessly (or wired) to the CDJ-2000 Nexus to playback the tracks.  But I have to go through my iPhone.  I can't directly over a link.

-I can play ALL tracks in Rekordbox (None are missing...and I JUST imported them and analyzed them with no issue...and since then no tracks [nor anything else] have been renamed or altered.)

-I can play all tracks in Rekordbox and stream the audio with no problem over the network to the Cue Link on my DJM-900 Nexus

-It is a very large collection of tracks at 47,000

-On the network, the two CDJ-2000 Nexus units and the DJM-900 Nexus talk to each other just fine and communicate properly.

-I do utilize the LittleSnitch firewall on my Mac...and I have tried it WITH Pulse's instructions on exceptions, and with it just disabled completely.

-I've tried disabling the internet connection on the switches/routers...still nothing.

-I have turned off iTunes and iTunes sharing stuff...and have disabled all network sharing.

-I downloaded Rekordbox with a free software key and started managing my files before my decks arrived, if that matters.

So an update...

-Running a cable directly from the iMac to the CDJ-2000 Nexus yielded no results.

-Renaming the database so that it starts didn't work either.  Even with one fresh, unaltered track.  Nothing.  Same error.

-Ran Rekordbox on my friend's old Snow Leopard machine...WORKED FINE.  Same network, same settings.  Is there a problem with Lion??

Has this software been successfully tested on Lion?  Not Mountain Lion, just Lion.  Has anyone duplicated my setup with a Lion machine linking to two CDJ-2000 NEXUS and one DJM-900 NEXUS?  If it has...there's got to be another setting that hasn't been mentioned that has major conflicts.

***I tried creating a fresh user on my iMac Lion machine, and it still did NOT work***

Have got the same problems as you describe here on a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 system.

Some of the tracks can be loaded onto one of my nexus decks, but the most will result

into the error "E-8302: Cannot Play Track (C658)".

I hope Pioneer will come up with a solution soon !!!

Hmm small update from here, what I just realised...

My large music collection is on a NAS server (for backup purposes etc) and those tracks can't be loaded.

When I load a track from the HDD of the PC itself, no problems at all ...

So it seems that the link between the NAS and CDJs isn't working (yet)...

More updates...

I had a brand new Mac Mini that I was going to use for something else that I plugged into the network.  It is running 10.7.5 Lion and it DOES work just fine.  So my Macbook Pro and my Mac Mini work fine Rekordbox.  I can load tracks wirelessly or wired.  With internet, without internet...doesn't matter, it works.

BUT, my iMac still won't connect to the players.  I've done everything short of reinstalling Lion on this machine.  I'm not sure what else I can do.  Does ANYONE have any other ideas of what might be conflicting?

I'm thinking it may be due to the device order in the networking setup.  Which is prioritized - wired or wireless?

Pulse- I've followed your advice as given in other posts. If we are wired...Ethernet is on top...if we are wireless...Airport is on top.

Same problem here, only with Windows 7, X64... Tried everything mentioned above, nothing works... Hope new firmware release for the DDJ's  from today might fix the problem. Otherwise Pioneer really needs to look into/update their rekordbox software...

have you tried clicking info on the track in RB .. does it show the correct file location?   ... I've found RB doesn't like network shares unless they are mapped to a physical drive letter.

@Geoff, It's an internal drive (F:), but even when I map this and share, it still doesn't work. Allthough my CDJ's appear to get back with the message faster and now the message is Mediafile is collapsed or unavailable, E-8302 cannot play track (C658) where it was before C630)

The only other thing I can think of then is a permission problem on the share. Try granting 'everyone' full permissions on the share. Otherwise perhaps Gavin or Pulse can ask the engineers what subcode C658 means?

@Richard > Could you please check your anti-virus / security software to ensure nothing is blocking access to the CDJ. The engineers have also said the following:

"The location of the music file written in database of rekordbox is different from the real one. Please confirm that your files exist in the location shown in rekordbox. If he migrated from windows XP, please read also FAQ:  http://rekordbox.com/support/faq.php?lang=en&c=184"

@Gavin, Windows FW has been disabled, Trend Micro AV has been switched off. Drive where I'm testing with at the moment is an internal drive which has been shared and mapped. Location is exactly the same... Still same Issue, even with Rekorbox V2.02

I'm getting exactly the same errors: "Media Or File Is Collapsed Or Unavailable" then below it, it says, "E-8302 Cannot Play Track (C658)".

Have tried all above as well. The link is active but is unable to transfer files onto the CDJ icons within software on Mac. Also the CDJ doesn't see Rekordbox playlists or tracks.

@Pulse Yes! That did the trick :D

I had my network drives loaded as Network Locations within Windows instead of a direct mapping to it (as a drive).

Thanx for the solution ;)

@pulse. We already checked firewall etc. before.

Yesterday we started with analysing and we fixed the problem.

We first attached another router, cables and used another NIC in my pc with no other results. We installed a clean windows XP virtual image on my PC, installed record box and it worked immidiatly.

With TCPview from sysinternal we took a look of the ports that were used within Windows when the Pioneer is downloading the track.

I analysed the ports on the Windows 7 pc and saw that my NFS server (hanewin NFS) was already using the ports.

I presume that the pioneer uses the NFS protocol to download tracks from record box? After stopping the NFS server everything is working.

I hope this will help other people.

@ Pulse: Can you publish all the ports that are used by the pioneer / record box.

tnx

Basically what we found out is that Rekordbox & ProDJ link, make use of the NFS (Network File Share) Protocol. Because I use my PC also for streaming films to my mediastreamer, I had installed Hanewin NFS Server. Rekordbox uses the same NFS protocol and ports as Hanewin and Hanewin started the NFS Server at startup. Soon as we disabled that, it worked. I even have put it again back to my old router (lINKSYS wag200g), where my internet connection is running through as well, and it still works. (For testing purposes, we set up a different seperate network, as I have 2 ethernet ports on my motherboard with a seperate linksys (BEFW1184) router). So what you should find out if there's any program running using the NFS protocol and disable it. I'm not saying this will solve the problem for everyone, but it did the trick for me. Next testing we'll do this week is take a clean installed Laptop with W7 64bit laptop to see if this runs without any problems.

Just to clearify, Rekordbox set's up it's own NFS Server, which is basically the same one as Hanewin. 2 quite similar NFS servers, using the same ports, don't quite work together...

Hi Guys

I am discovering the same problems, I have record box the latest version en 2 times the Pioneer CDJ900NXS.

They are connected via a 3com switch to a windows machine with XP installed the files are stored locally.

The only difference to the problems described in the forum is that most of the files are played correctly, but some of them give the error code E8302

These files are the same format as the ones that don’t play on the player and they play in record box.

It looks that these are the files that are new in the database!

Please some advice
