Why this secrecy?

Why can't Pioneer inform their customers about the status of their work and what bug fixes and features to expect in upcoming rekordbox and firmware releases?

I think the way Native Instruments informs their customers about upcoming releases is excellent! They give information in what phase they're in (specification, development, beta testing and final testing) and info about improvements and bug fixes.

I know the mods aren't allowed to talk about upcoming releases and I don't criticize the mods (they're just doing their job) but I really think Pioneer should consider to follow the way how Native Instruments informs their customers.

It must be better to let the customers know what you're working on instead of having several threads with questions about what's happening with this and that bug…

I posted this in the rekordbox thread but it's also valid for any device that can be updated via firmware.

Agree with you 100%, but while I'd also wish they'd be more open, especially on this board, this pretty much sums up their policy. I also dislike that Pioneer focuses on things like smartphone apps instead of working on improving the software's reliability and productivity aspects. There's so many features people on this forum have asked for, very few of which have actually been developed and implemented.

I also agree on this. Pioneer should become more openminded and let others help improving their products.

Their policy reminds me of Apple.. this is why I never buy apple products in the first place!

agree 100%, especially with the Nexus FAIL, this is only going to get more public and eventually one of the DJWorx type sites will write an article on how bad the Nexus' are, at least if Pioneer acknowledges it and gives up some damn answers, it could avoid the bad pr, RB has been a buggy joke since version 1 and unfortunately it's only getting worse, 2.0.1 crashes more on me daily then any of the previous versions and the nexus decks are unusable. eventually this will get out outside the pioneer forums, I already have a lot of dj friends calling me asking me if I have the same issues they do, I tell them yes and hopefully they are fixed and they all returned their decks before the return policy was up.

PIONEER >> PLEASE TAKE NOTE. Ive spent £6000 worth on CDJ2000s and CD2000Nexus, over the last 34 months ... thats a lot of cash in site of the reported bugs. Pulse in particular ... You seem to have gone very quiet compared to 6 months ago.

 I also do NOT understand this ridiculous and weird policy they have.. We are talking about professional DJ gear here and in my life I could probably buy a lot of nice BMWs from all the money spent on Pioneer gear.. they should really open up a little and acknowledge the issues or telling us they are looking into this and fix this..

Agreed as well.  I've already emailed Rocky again at Technical Support...and posted yet ANOTHER bug post regarding RB2.0.1/CDJ2KNexus.  My next step is starting to climb Pioneer's vast and large corporate ladder to get some of these things fixed.  I've spent a large amount of money on Pioneer gear...and I want it to work.  As advertised.  It was not advertised to work "some of the time".

And about the Apple comment above...while I don't agree with their secrecy either...I also don't have a problem paying a premium for their products.  Because...they work.
