Rekordbox 2.0.2/2.0.3 crashes on some MP3s

well I figured out where the issue is

If you import one of those into 2.0.3, yes it crashes the program. If you load it into 2.0.1 it imports and analyzes but create weird symbols or chinese writing in the comments field like in the pic I attached, If I delete that comment filed crap (had to delet twice and refresh for it to take the change), then i can import it into 2.0.3 and play with no issue. So something weird in 2.0.3 is preventing this

also, If I drop the files into mp3 scan and repair it shows some error and I can rebuild and drop into 2.0.3 but it wipes the tag info out obviously fixed the issue being the comments field is where the issue lies

Can you give me a link to a mp3/aac repair tool? If it possible for mac os x.. so I would scan my whole library and let it fix. I think there some other files that have problems, but because of the rekordbox crashin, I cannot identify these songs in my big big library.

it's RB causing the issue so i wouldn't go nut, If I import these tracks into any other program like Serato or iTunes, the "COMMENTS" field is blank and loads and plays with no issues yet when you import it into RB it either creates symbols in 2.0.1 or crashes 2.0.3

here is mp3 scan and repair but like I said above, "if" you choose to rebuild the files giving issues, it wipes the tags so all the info like artist, album, bpm, etc.... is gone

RB just needs to be fixed, not your files, the "error" I get in scan and repair is """"MPEG stream error, resynchronized successfully""""  

and the files in raw form you sent play fine on the Nexus decks, it's only in RB the issue lies still

Yes I know. I played it already with my Nexus player and 2.0.1. But now I know why at my last gig rekordbox 2.0.2 crashing on clicking one of these mp3s. Rekordbox 2.0.1 works here fine, but crashes 1-2 two times per gig on searching or on playing with the cue-link-player. So I can choose between pest and cholera.

Is there no pioneer support hotline, like traktor it has? I'm very unhappy with rekordbox.. I have no chance to switch to usb library.. my library is too big to find songs on the "small" nexus display and without the ability to use a use-keyboard on the nexus...

So at the moment I thinking about switching back to Traktor. But then I there is no reasen to have a nexus player.. a normal cdj2000 would be enough, that I have before I bought the crashing "upgrade". Is there no way for us customers to demand a right to a stable system?

I could send back the Players three times in germany to get back the money, with the reason that they are not working correctly. But then I have no nexus player. The best player in the world (without rekordbox)

I am with ya 100%, RB needs a lot of work and I have a large library also, I was thinking of going back to Serato sometimes but like you said, Then whats the point of owning the Nexus, Might as well just buy a $1000 SX controller at that point

So I think at the moment I will use 2.0.3 to import tracks (because of the BPM bug in 2.0.1) and use 2.0.1 to play with nexus on a live gig. Seems at the moment the best way. Because I have no time to find my buggy mp3s in my 60.000 title library.

Plus point for Rekordbox. All three Versions works with the same Library. So I can switch any time.

yeah, I dont believe column sorting really has anything to do with it, i got rid of all my columns and only left title and the search still sucks bad

So I have cleared the comment field of the defective MP3s an reanalyse it now in 2.0.3  I hope it works. Because these are 1000 songs and there are many that I need, so it should be analysed with version 2.0.3

yeah, I selected all ur tracks, hit info, went into the comments area and cleared the symbols, hit the refresh button up top and they came back but the second time i deleted and refreshed they were gone for good, I then could open 2.0.3 and use them

For me it crashes during the exportpart, and that drives me crazy, i washed and reedit tags, reconverted files, changed usb memorys and sdcards and ofcourse installed and reinstalled RB 2.0.3 with the same result on different files, not just the same all the time

It sure sux!

Did not have any issues with 2.0.1 so i angry myself on letting me update a working machine!

Hi Martin,

use Rekordbox 2.0.3 to import and anlyse files..  Use 2.0.1 for the rest. The database is compatible.

Hahaha well you could have told me that early this week, cause im searching for 2.0.1 but cant seem to find it, so im stuck with 2.03 as of now

But ive come to the conclusion as follows which is really wierd.

If i just drag whatever mp3, M4a to a playlist imported to RB, and export to usb the program crashes

If i instead recode my files to CBR, retag / wash the tags from strange signs and other cr@p

and make a folder in RB and put a Playlist inside and then export to RB it worx, hahah talk about working overtime.

I also made the discovery that mp3, M4a have more drag when batmatching then with Wav or  Aiff, same different files, different codings / compressions. and thats strange as you dont have any moving parts like with say a cd player.

Its should not be the case that its more easy to keep two or tre tracks together on CD then on mp3.

Thats a riddle for me, really ;D

I have a .aif that crashes rekordbox 2.0.3 during profile scan on import.

It crashes at the very end of the scan, after it's profiled the entire track.
