When it stops on select tracks, if you choose to manually analyse it, will it complete analysis of that one track?

S’abonnerRB 3: Analysis keeps stalling
I have Auto Analysis ON, but after so many analyzed tracks, it's stops.
Even if I select all tracks, it will start to analyze, but then after so many will stop.
I have to manually select Analyze track for it to start analyzing again.
Also worth noting, when I select Analyze track, it will analyze 1 track (whichever is highlighted), but will carry on analyzing the rest.
However, it still stalls.
Not impressed!

I have the same issue and on some files it will not complete the analysis even if you double click them when they hit 99-100% the whole of record box just freezes.
@Pulse
It doesn't stop half way through a single track (for me at least), but it will stop after analysis is complete of a track then not continue with the rest.
If I manually select analyze track, it will analyze the highlighted track and then proceed with the rest of the collection.
But, will stop again after about a dozen tracks.
There isn't one single tracks this happens to - it's completely random - but completely persistent.
@S-TYPE > Do you have the analysis mode in NORMAL or PERFORMANCE?
@Rosey > Can you please post one of the files which will not complete analysis?
I having the same issue, it will stop after so many tracks normally a dozen to 2 dozen, and then it just stops.
@Kevin > Same questions would apply to you - need more info to be able to help.
It's not that a file will not complete analysis or freeze, rekordbox just randomly stops and I would have to manually highlight a new set of tracks and continue analyzing. And if it does stop it will say in the bottom left corner that it's still analyzing but nothing is actually being actively analyzed.
Additional info I'm using a 2 TB external hardrive formatted fat32
Could you guys please post info about what the specs of your computer are as well as the operating system details?
The issue occurs on both my custom PC running intel core 2 duo E8400 3GHZ 4 gb mem and my mac book pro 15 inch 2010 model with 8 gig of mem.
@ Pulse, a few answers,
Happens with both normal and performance mode,
iMac 27 inch
Processor 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Software OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
Files Stored on a Lacey 10TB drive connected with thunderbolt, i believe what you mentioned in a previous post could be right about file corruption's however the only corruption's i can find seem to be artwork related, not sure why this affect analysis it didn't in previous versions of RB that i used.
my internet is particularly slow i will upload some files soon.
Also all problem files seem to be AIFF format.
@ Pulse, i found also if i create an Aiff version of the problem files in iTunes then re import them they generally work fine. it is just that to identify the problem files RB needs to freeze on a file that you can see has hit 99-100% which makes it a extremely slow process. it would be good if it just skipped the problem files if that were possible leaving a bunch of file at the end that we know need attention in some form. Also i tried uploading some problem files but they are over the 20mb limit.
so.... DJ Rosey you find a solution?
@Kevin Gibson I found that if you find the file that is stalling, ie it hits 100% you can use iTunes to create a new version then Reimport that file and it seems to work. The challenge is to find the corrupt files. I analysed only what was on the screen this is an ongoing ridiculously long process since I have over 20,000 tracks.
I made some adjustment in the preference pane in regards to analysis and it seems to be working without halting now. dynamic mode ON - and performance mode. what i would like is for rekordbox to rewrite the ID3 tag so the full waveform and all the data is on the external HD it self and not just in the software on my computer, im I missing something here? I don'twant to make playlist I want to play my music direct from the HD from the folder system I have created over the years.
kevin - don't use dynamic mode unless your tracks are vinyl rips or use live drums. this mode should only be used is the beat isn't 100% steady. you'll find that your bpm counter on the cdj starts jumping around in values and doesn't appear steady. it will also screw with your mixes if you use sync button.
thanks for the heads up... my main question is .. after I analyze all my file on my external why is it when i plug the external into my CDJ 900 nexus the waveforms don't show up and it start analyzing it all over again?
you can't just plug your main library drive into your deck. your collection/playlists need to be exported to a different drive/usb stick or sd card.
And... that's what i wanted to hear.... suxs... if pioneer really wants an edge on serato and traktor, they would make this possible.
This system gives you way more options than the other software.
Exporting to a different drive/USB allows you to use the cdjs without a computer..
You can connect your computer via Ethernet to the cdjs and use rekordbox just like serato/traktor.
You can also use traktor/serato via USB with your laptop using the HID control.
If you are having problems with analysis, please try switching the analysis mode to PERFORMANCE within the preferences, close and restart rekordbox. You may need to right-click and force start the analysis once more, but it shouldn't hang any more.
I purchased the CDJ 900 nexus thinking I could use my entire library via USB HD. It feels a bit restrictive having to make playlist/sets, I don't play like that I want access to my entire library without a laptop. partly as a back up to serato in case my Mac book takes a nose dive. just my 2 cents. stiil great pieces of gear I just wish it had that functionality.
@ Pulse, as Mentioned in a previous post analysis hangs with either normal or performance modes selected, i have again tried your above method with no luck.
@DJ Rosey > Does it stall on one particular track? If you select that track and manually analyse it, does it complete the waveform build?
