
@Mark > As it's a simple rotary potentiometer, a physical device, there is the possibility that dirt or dust or other outside "stuff" got in the mechanics and is causing the problem. You have a couple of choices:
you could have the unit serviced under warranty
use it for a bit and see if the problem goes away or gets worse ... and have the unit serviced under warranty
get an audio cleaner (such as Caig faderlube) to clean the pot yourself, but potentially void warranty
