DDJ-SX Feature Request: Ability to Trigger Loops on Performance Pads

This is such a simple request, I'm actually surprised that it wasn't included.  My request is that I be able to save/store loops using the performance pads of the DDJ-SX.  I don't see a secondary function of the Hot Cue section, so perhaps a simple double-click of the Hot Cue button could allow the user to access the 8 loop banks for each deck in Serato DJ.

I envision the workflow as something along the lines of you set your loop(s) with the looping controls, then double-press the Hot Cue button to access the loop banks.  Press whichever pad you wish to store the loop to (each pad represents one slot of the loop bank for each respective deck--pad 1 for Slot 1, etc.) and it's stored.  Pressing Shift + the pad would delete the loop.

Easy-peasy, fixable with a simple firmware update!

Please, Pioneer?  This would be SUPER-AWESOME and would make your already stellar DDJ-SX controller even better!

oh yes!

nicely requested and explained how it can be done.

i would welcome this after discovering itc's difficult to use this great function how itc's currently done on the SX.

Jake, just thinking about this.

I think it would be better to request this on the Serato forum. In my opinion it's software related also down to mapping the SX,

Not sure who does the mapping for the SX but guess it's still software related

I too would like to be able to select loops from the pads. The way I am currently triggering a loop is.....

  1. click roll

  2. lightly depress the roll pad of your desired length loop that you want without actually triggering a roll. Just light enough to barely see the light come on the pad.

  3. then hit your auto loop button to trigger the loop.

I know this might sound like a lot, but it is much smoother than looking on screen to figure out what size loop you are on and then adjusting to the size and triggering.

Definitely a real pain in the butt, isn't it?

Gilbz, I also sent an actual feature request directly to Pioneer using the link on this page.  Sending it to Serato is an awesome idea...I'm not sure it's a Serato issue though.  My gut feeling say's it's a firmware update.  Which one of us is right?  Who cares!  I say we get it to whomever needs to see it and maybe we can get this basic and simple feature implemented!  :)

I'll let you know if I hear anything back.  Let me know what you hear from Serato.
