No audio output from DDJ-SX...

Just received my shiny new controller via UPS yesterday and there's no output from the mains (rca or xlr) or the booth.  I have metering in the Master Level on the mixer and I'm getting audio out via the headphone jack, but there's nothing outputting from the DDJ's other audio outs.  I've tried it on my Mac as well as my PC both of which exceed specs for Serato.  I've also tried to send audio out via the line inputs using my iPad as an external source, and it's the same scenario.  Am I missing something obvious?  It's fresh off the pioneer assembly-line (Feb 2013 mfg date).  I'm a bit bummed...as I was looking forward to jumping into this new chapter of my DJ career.  I've been a Serato user for 6 years now with SSL (SL-1 & TTM-57 + 1200's) but, after almost 20 years of lugging decks around, i figured it would be nice to step into the 21st century with the DDJ and save my aging back in the process. Also, came with latest firmware per installed.
