Did you have the CH1 cue button pressed (illuminated)? That's the talk-over and what you're hearing is the ducking of the audio as input is sensed on the mic input.

[OPEN] Pioneer DDJ-SX Sound cutting in and out
I had a song playing , and when I stated talking into the mic the sound started cutting in and out . Only way to fix it , was to turn it off . I really should of hit the talk over button . This has happened twice now on me . because I keep forgetting to hit the talk over button .

I should of hit the Talk over button , but forgot to click it . So basically the music is playing loud , and then I just pick up the mic and start talking , which made the song start cutting in out out , like it was skipping . I have to remember next time to click the talk over button
