As previously stated, I'm sorry for closing the thread when I was not informed of Pioneer Europe's product release dates.

Pioneer is investigating all comments and complaints. Your patience is appreciated.

I seriously hope Pioneer comes up with a solution with the platter issue. I just got mine today and the right deck detects any part of the fingers. But my left deck has exactly the same issue as the OP.

I was told March 17th @ Guitar Center, March 24th for all other US retailers. Canada may also be the 24th, but not entirely sure. Obviously other countries (such as Europe) already have some availability with more to come.

Still no word on Pioneer addressing this issue! Once I get my 2nd SZ I will be testing it and if there are the same issues, I will return it and will get another brand. Such a shame Pioneer has fumbled big time with the SZ.

Hi,

Just got mine today. UK. Manufacturing date of February 2014. Mine has the issue with left platter not always responding too. I scratch left handed so I'm absolutely gutted. It's weird. You can see on the dial (on the jog wheel) that it's stopped picking up your touch just by turning the ddj on and playing with the jog. I knew mine had the issue before even opening up serato from this

Feel a bit sick knowing how much I've spent

Hope they acknowledge it and come up with a fix

Chris

Hi Chris, I had the same issue with my left platter. Just get a refund don't mock around with it for too long. Return it ASAP. What annoys me is that Pioneer hasn't even made a statement on what are their plans of fixing the issue. I'm not asking when will they release a firmware to fix it. But at least acknowledge that there's an issue. All I hear from reps is "Pioneer knows about the platter issue".... well at least give your customers some assurance that you will fix this issue.

Since Pioneer hasn't acknowledged the platter issue, people who bought the SZ are left in limbo. I'm surely starting to get pissed with this issue. I work for a manufacturing company and we make sure that when we release a product that it will work as it should. And if there's an issue we get in contact with our customers to let them know that we will fix the issue and even give them updates on where we are at with fixing their product. And our company is a speck when compared to a giant like Pioneer.

Just can't understand how come Pioneer releases the SZ without testing it rigorously. I mean give it to real DJs who would actually put the SZ on its paces to see what works or if there are any issues. Instead they release it and get people to pay lots of money for a controller that's suppose to be the top of the line controller. What kind of quality control does Pioneer have? Do they even believe in testing their products especially the SZ?

I do apologize for my rant but just really annoyed with the SZ!! And very disappointed with Pioneer with all this whole issue with the platter.

Pulse, its been 13 days now since you said that Pioneer are investigating all comments & complaints....... I am sure that by now they know if this issue can be fixed with a firmware update, or if its a hardware issue.

Please can you find out which one it is, as a lot of people are running out of patience and are returning their SZ's.

I originally reported this problem around the 4th March. There doesn't seem to be much communication between Pioneer and the customers!

Thanks.... Keith.

I am also looking for an answer before my 30 days window expires. Or at least an acknowledgment of the issue by Pioneer so I know they are working on it.

To any SZ owners I highly suggest to return the unit and get a refund. Don't take a gamble if a firmware might fix the problem.

I still enjoy using my SZ, I have been told by the store manager that I can wait to see if firmware fixes it or if not then I can swap for another unit...... I would rather hang on until I know the outcome before I return it, buy another, only to have the same problem again.... I have nothing to lose.

I have 3 unites that work perfect and i no about 7 people with units who work perfect so why return them?

The only problem for me is Pioneer hasn't acknowledged the issue. Nor have they announced that a new firmware will be out soon. If the second unit I get is the same, I will say goodbye to the SZ and go with another brand. Pioneer should at least reassure SZ owners that it will be fixed with a new firmware. But with them being hush hush about it makes me very doubtful that a firmware will fix it. Don't get me wrong I do hope a firmware fixes it.

But with just guesses and assumptions it makes people unsure of what will happen.

Of course if they don't have issues why would you return them? I meant for SZ owners with issues to get a refund.

I have the exact same problem Pulse, left jog wheel is not responding to the touch. How can we adjust the jog wheels? It seems like everyone here has the same problem with the left jog wheel.

Hi

Spoke to shop and they are sending a courier to pick the faulty SZ up tomorrow. They reckon their next UK shipment is sometime in April. I've told them I'm happy for a replacement from that shipment but have instructed them to open the SZ box and test the Unit before sending to me because it isn't great having to mess around boxing back up etc to send back. Pretty gutted really. As I stated earlier. You can see if the platter is faulty just by powering up and tapping the platter with 1 finger. It is that night and day compared to a working platter. I'd love to know what manufacturing dates guys had on faulty SZ's and again on you guys with non faulty units. Just for personal interest.
Regards
Chris

I don't own the SZ but I did have the same problem with my SX. Right out of the box I had this issue. The problem got worse each day I used the SX to the point I could not use the right platter. I returned the SX and the retailer gave me another one. I've now had the unit for a year and it is like night and day between the 2 units. I would recommend returning the SZ if you have this problem.

I received my unit today in the UK, I have exactly the same issue on both platters!! Shall i return the faulty one and get a new one?

@Owen Baxter personally I know I would. And if the 2nd one does the same, get a refund again and don't get the SZ until this issue has been fixed. It's a lot of money for a product that has issues. I know I would never put up with a product that has issues.

... and no response from Pioneer team: that's just incredible ! I can't believe it, we have post all link to share what is the problem.

I really think that is time to Pioneer to have a minimum of respect for us ! We are not bedroom DJ's !!! You cannot say anymore that you have no information about this issue !

What do you plan to do now, we know that SZ is a new product but it's not a normal situation that some units have this problem. Our rescellers refuse to change them because this issue is not recognized by Pioneer... Maybe we have to say to other DJ to not by SZ until this problem is fixed ???

@DJTRICE if your seller refuses to replace them you should get a refund. Because it comes down to a faulty product!

I'm pretty sure it must be a hardware issue, due to lack of comment from pioneer and the fact that some units are working fine, if some units work and other a defective then if the firmware and software is the same then it can only be hardware!!

I'm not gonna hold out for a software fix, i'm just gonna try and get it replaced!

PIONEER PLEASE ADDRESS THiS ISSUE FORMALLY SO PEOPLE ARN'T LEFT IN THE DARK!!

@Owen Baxter I have the same theory. The way I look at it, if it's a firmware we should see way more units with the same platter issue. But since Pioneer is taking so long to fix it and not even acknowledging the issue just makes me think this is a hardware issue. Actually how may units have this issue? Not a lot of SZ owners have the platter issue, only a few. I truly believe it's hardware related.

+1: Hardware issue. I think that the other way to correct this is to have adjustable sensitivity in Hardware SETUP like DDJ SR.

If we don't have any response, i will return back my unit.
