S’abonner[CLOSED] Pioneer DDJ-SR ongoing problems and bugs
Hey Pioneer team,
I have send a support ticket a few month ago and never heard back from you. So I'm going to try it here again. I bought the SSR around three month ago and had problems with it straightaway. I have send two videos with two problems to your support back then- no feedback.
Bug 1
SR looses control
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_uHHUTFx6U
Bug 2
SR can't be found but it is connected
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUnVCEWzlc0
It was so frustrating that I stopped using the DDJ for weeks. Today, I plugged it in again and the nightmare continues. Three new videos with bugs from today:
Bug 3
Playback drops out
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czpBxzxMDwU
Bug 4
Track in Serato goes crazy - crash
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6SO7QsKrSU
Bug 5
Loud noise via USB connection
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdvxjbSxrME
Bug 6
Drop out when using trigger pads to quick. (related to Bug 3 maybe)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KccgPglzRlc
Me:
Mac 10.9.2 with 500GB SSD 16GB RAM Corei7 2.8gHz
Soundcards: MOTU UltraLite mk3 and Mac Core Audio internal soundcard
DDJ-SR: not with latest firmware because the firmware java application can not find SSR. "Your DDJ SR is not connected" (but it is)
Serato DJ 1.6.3
So I get it, that I need to update my firmware. While this is not possible, any ideas about all those bugs (especially bug number 5)? How can I update the firmware if the .jar app can't find the device?
UPDATE: latest firmware + Serato 1.7
I hope someone responds here.
Thanks

I have updated to 1.07. Bug number 5 (see above) still persist. Not going to test the other bugs after updating. I can't use the controller with buzzing noise and crackles. See here for the same issue: http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/95625576-PIoneer-DDJ-SR-controller-sound-buzzing
What I did:
used both outputs with different cables
direct output to speakers
output to soundcard
used different USB cables + different USB inputs (direct on mac book and usb hub)
Problem still persist.
Any suggestion Pioneer team?
I have the exact same problem as Bug number 5. has anyone got a fix for this yet? or is my unit faulty?
I have the same problem to have tried 3 diffrent computers and I do not have the buzzing sound if I connect my Vestax VCI-300
It seems like Pioneer seem to be ignoring this issue, I've got a controller that is as far as I'm concerned is not fit for purpose!! Come on, sort it out!!!
Re: #5 - does the noise overwhelm the sound of the audio or is it only heard when no audio is played? Does the noise continue when the power is disconnected from the laptop?
The sound is always there as soon as you connect the USB or RCA cables the sound starts, I have bought new sheilded RCA cables (quite expencive ones) and changed all electric cabels and everything is set in a grounded powerstrip. the buzzing is loud. I have tried 3 laptops and one Intel NUC all got the same problem. When i just shift the cabels and use my old Vestax VCI-300 it is totally silent whith the same cabels? I just baught My DDJ-SR a few weeks ago, i have upgraded to latest firmware. any tips??? please? or should I return it?
I am using a Onkyo TX-NR808 as amp anyone had problems with DDJ-SR and this reciver? also using my samung tv as a monitor. removed antenna cabel but no change.
PLEASE what should I do?
i have the exact same bug 5 can anyone help me how to fix it?
same issue here, just opened the box , update the drivers and zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Brandon so you updated the drivers and everything is ok now>
?
Juan carlos- problem still persists. I hooked up the ddj unit to my laptop and it seems fine. Could anyone tell me why this problem exists with my PC and what I could do to fix it?
im having the same problem can anyone help us?
I've still got this issue, Pioneer seem to be ignoring it for some reason!
Did you guys tried to dj with out the pic power plug on? I've been searching for this issue and I bought something if it works I will let you guys know
@Pulse: The noise came up up right after beeing connected and disappeared when disconnected. See video. The noise was not related to any other device connected to the sane circuit.
I have send my SR to repair 4 (!) month ago and still did not received it back. My dealer (DJ City - Australia) also stopped communication with me. I'm ready to hand this case over to a lawyer.
@Dennis > Sorry, I didn't get a clear answer as to whether you tried this with the power disconnected from the laptop (running on battery-only).
@Konrad > The engineers believe your problem may be due to the MOTU. Can you try without that device connected to see if it still makes noise?
I will let you guys know tomorow if that Resolves the problem because I'm playing live today and I will know if the sound still continues
I tried without the power plug connected and the mosquito sound still keeps going I bought a ground loop isolator I haven't received it yet when I tryit I will let you guys know if someone figures out the problem pleas let me know!!!
I tried with a different laptop and the sound still continues I hope when I get the ground loop isolator everything fixed if not I will try and call the team pioneer
@Pulse: After 4 month I got feedback from DJ City, Australia. They were saying they had to wait for a part for so long and are now going to repair the SR. I see how I go when I received it. As for the MOTU. The SR was connected to the speakers directly. So the MOTU was not used.
@Konrad @Pulse if i don't solve the problem how can I send my ddj sb to guarantee? I've only had mines for 5 months
Good news everyone so I tryed my Pioneer Ddj SB with the ground loop isolator and everything sounds clearly and perfect so I recomend you guys to try and buy a ground loop isolator and you will hear the difference I bought the Raptor ground loop isolator and it's perfectly clear
it looked like it was everything ok but the mosquito sound is still making noise can any admin or anyone if the team pioneer help me? I've been with this pioneers for 6 months and a half and I think I'm going to send them to warranty!
Mine is working now but only if I use a laptop if a use my Intel NUC and connect a monitor via HDMI the sound is back.
Hey guys,
first, I got my DDJ SR back after 4 month. I found out that DJ City Australia was lying at me. They said they replaced a part which they had to wait for for 4 month. In the end they did nothing else than a test on two computer, where they could not replicate my problem. It took them 4 month to do that. Do not buy anything at this store!
Secondly, I tried to use balanced audio cables (TRS) which go straight into the speaker (KRK Rokit 6). Remove all other audio cables (from speaker or SR). No noise anymore. Using the standard chinch cable brings back the noise. Use only the TRS input. Or get a hum destroyer. There is something wrong with electricity flow caused by USB or something like that.
Because I'm stupid, instead of throwing the DDJ SR to the trash bin, I started a new mixtape with it today and found a new bug.
#6 - latest firmware (updated 1 year ago, thanks Pioneer), Serato DJ 1.7.3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KccgPglzRlc
Unusable device. How can you serously build/sale such a piece of crap? Nice concept, but doesn't work.
Using DDJ-SR with my new Macbook Pro 2014 - with Yosemite OS, Still freezing when using the pitch control, It's been about 6 months now and this is continues, I had another old Mcbook Pro and it was doing the same thing, so the issue is hardware, pioneer needs to come up with a solution to this problem. I hate to have to switch to back up plans during performance.
@Bobby > Could you please start a new thread so I can provide you with the appropriate assistance with your issue? Piggy-backing another topic will only lead to confusion and make it more difficult to address your concerns.
Hi I 'm new using the DDJ -SR has 3 months after it was purchased and already has a problem there leave the video is in Spanish
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCRnlSJXxzw
They told me to update the firmware but tried it on my 3 computers and Java does not open.
I hope they help me please have Java 8 is not that fails to open when this turned on DDJ -SR
