i was just mixing, testing the unit as it crashed at my club on saturday. i was just mixing through a playlist, then playing a track and messing with looping. the mp3 has been prepared and tried and tested on my aero. running through the loops, it suddenley crashed/audio locked in the same high pitch squeel other people are talking about.

also, the looping is hit or miss. quantize or none, as i said before all my mp3s have been played a zillion times on the aero. here the loops sometimes are correct and sometimes theyre quite 'off' . my mp3s also sounded better in the aero. has the processing changed alot?

Also when I am running a 4 beat loop I am feeling like the speed is stuttering by going fast and then slowing down.
Like a fluctuation in BPM? Or maybe in Tempo?
I took two of the same song and did a 4 beat loop in the exact segment of the song and set the BPM the same.
If you are not in sync it will not stay in sync and will drift and if you use an effect it will drift drastically.
I agree with Bobgavid-- My songs sounded better on the Pioneer DDJ SX? They sound more muddy on the R1
I've noticed the drift effect too..when I first played with it I thought 'why am I finding it so hard to hold a normal mix lol '
