I myself dont even take my r1 to the club... im too paranoid that itll freeze during my set... how do we go about a mass boycot of this product? I paid R14000 for equipment i have no faith in..pioneer should give us something else? Caus in actual fact we losing money...
There are many users out there who aren't having any problems, myself included (and yes, I've used an R1 quite a bit.)
Well then recall the guys machines who are having problems... they were all made the same so why some and not others? Its ridiculous for a brand such as pioneer to go on like this...
I am copying this in here because everytime I try and submit a ticket the ticket is automatically solved when I would like a response on how to proceed (great way to wind up people who are already fed up after buying an expensive product that seems to be very poorly designed).
I have just tried to use my XDJ R1 and found that there is no output on the right channel. When trying to play a track there is no output on the level meter (Effects are off, crossfader set correctly, volume gain and master volume up etc), the track looks like it's playing as it can be scrubbed, but there is no sound either via the master or when trying to cue using the headphones and the headphone mix button on the right channel and no recognition of any audio on that channel in the level meters.
I was using USB as the source input when the problem arose and I noticed that the USB input was flashing like the input source wasn't selected properly. I then tried to switch to a CD and had the same problem, the tracks on the CD can be selected and played but the CD input button for the right channel flashes and again there is no sound that comes out.
The firmware is 1.08
This unit was purchased at the end of October and is in excellent condition having hardly been used. It's never been used for gigs or even left the room where I use it. The last time I used it a week or so ago it was working fine, then I start it up today and from the moment it was powered on there is no output on the right channel.
It doesn't lend much confidence in the long term viability of an expensive product when it can be used sparingly, have no damage and yet in a short space of time develop a fault like this.
What are the next steps? Is there anything more I can do at this point or should I contact my retailer?
I agree . I also said this last year. If this was an Apple product there would be uproar and it would be all over the media. I'm still upset about the time and money I lost on it .
I wonder if there's a case for this.
@ Rob > your issue is it similar to mine? Check it there: http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/41228578--CLOSED-XDJ-R1-channel-2-stops-working
From your description should be the same. In my opinion is software bug not an hardware problem.

@Rob > Users are not able to create tickets themselves, hence the automatic solve/close. Technically you shouldn't even be able to see the link to submit them. Where are you finding it?
some problems from R1 is came from right deck.
pulse pls check it with engineers.
Im also finding an issue with the right deck. 2 Issues really
1) the up fader will intermittently lower the volume and i have to move it up and down or tap it to restore full volume
2) intermittently the right deck will pause when i try to move the jog wheel while playing - and yes it wasnt in vinyl mode at the time.
I have the same problems of Mel on my XDJ-R1 with firmware v1.09. I hadn't before the upgrade, please pioneer check the problems with right deck (no sounds, check my previous video/comment), the vinyl mode and other issue because every time I use my XDJ-R1 I'm scared about a software fault and reboot the controller to solve.
My right deck now also started with no sound via vinyl mode on the right side... a problem I never had with the previous software...
After discussion with the engineers, they feel that there may be an issue with your units and that it is not a software/firmware related issue. I have been advised to direct you to either return the unit to your retailer or an authorized service centre for repair or replacement. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
