Turning off Autoplay on XDJ-RX

Hi,

Just got the XDJ-RX and love it, however I have a slight niggle that I cant figure out. When I load a track, or select a hot cue, the track automatically plays.

Any ideas how I can turn off the Autoplay?

I have just moved from the DDJ-SX.

Cheers

Just hold in the Menu button until the Utility Menu appears and then set Autoplay to Off.

I might be wrong but I think selecting Hot Cues always plays the track.

Thanks Lewis. I shall try then when I get home.

Regarding the Hot Cue autoplay, how would you guys go about setting the cue point to the hot cue?

also you should hold down the ""time -a cue"" on the touch screen to enable auto cue for each track loaded so it does not auto play

Thanks BriChi, is that the same button labeled as 'time Mode' with auto cue written underneath?

Autoplay and Auto Cue are two different things, but it seems we've got them covered in the posts above. If you need further assistance, just let us know.

Just tried the suggestions, and neither work. The AutoPlay option is off when I select the menu, and holding down the Time(Auto Cue) button, makes no difference. I am running firmware 1.0, will this be the cause?

Also I cannot find the online manual.

can you make a video quick and post it maybe? then we can see exactly the settings and you explain more of what is happening,

If auto cue is enabled then when you load a track it is supposed to CUE the track and leave it paused

definitely update the FW to 1.50 located here: http://www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/software/xdj-rx#firmware-update

and the manual is here: http://www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/documents/xdj-rx

Check that A.CUE appears in the display (that indicates it's enabled) and Autoplay should be set to OFF in the settings.

Got my RX 2 hours ago.  This Autoplay thing is driving me crazy... I have Autoplay turned off in the menu, and Autocue set to MEMORY.  But here's the rub:  I'm playing old thumb drives with the v2 version of the Rekordbox database.  It complains and does not see the older version Cues nor the Hot Cues, and the thing just autoplays along.  Looks like in a few minutes I found a corner case bug, and will try next with the V3 Rekordbox database.

Why is this important?  Well, I'd like to pull from my keyring of thumbs from time to time and not have it go off into the weeds, lol...

...or with random tracks I want to play out that have not been analysed.

Update:  It seems my time mode button was so fresh, it was not going down all the way.  it made the 'click' but the function was not responsive until I held it down for a seemingly long time (like 2x that of my 2000's).

So you were able to finally see the A.CUE appear onscreen?

Yes.  A couple of auxiliary buttons feel 'sticky' on first press, needing a bit of extra 'umph'.  Now I'm subjecting it to a bit of break-in.  So far, this thing feels solid.  Pretty impressed, really.  My 'thrasher' rig is awesome, LOL!

Now, how about that reading the old thumb drives thing...  Weird, huh?  No waveforms, no cues, no hot cues, no loops.  They read fine on 2000's and Nexus decks.

Also, the resonance on the Filter effect is terrible.  I'd really like it to be configurable.  Noise effect is...~interesting~

The solution there would be to update your drives, sorry! The best bet is to format and re-export your tracks to those drives as the architecture of the database was prior to the RX and while they will work fine on the other models, if you want full RX compatibility, you should update.

Hmmm, some of these sets are no longer in my library, I'd have to recreate them from the play histories.  Oh, well...

Just hold down the Time Mode button next to the screen for couple of seconds, and you will see the A.CUE in red on the screen

@Jonathan > That's only for autocue; for Auto Play you need to change the setting within the menu as already answered in this question.

I did that and the AutoPlay off and none of the tracks start playing unless I start them so It worked for me

As a new XDJ-RX owner I found the default auto-play behaviour quite confusing. Glad I found this forum post. Turning on auto cue finally has the system loading the tracks without automatically playing.

It would be great if the "Setting auto cue" topic in the manual could be updated to mention that auto cue also stops automatic playback of tracks.

Stop/pause the completed track first, before loading the new one and see what happens?!

@Andrew > If you have autocue disabled and auto play enabled, loading another track won't cue the track, so it plays -- but leaving the track at the END of the playback means the deck is still in "play" mode, so you would technically need to press the play/pause button again.

I have been going crazy trying to get this right
Update your firmware
Then hold the button called time mode -auto cue it's under deck 1/2 button
Hold it for a few seconds and the words on your controller screen will light up and say REMAIN A.CUE your all good after that.
Evey time you load a track or press track search it will hold it ready for you to hit that beautiful play button.

So that's cool but where do I find that same feature in Record box?
That is question.
Help me please anyone

I've just got an XDJ-RX as a more portable solution to my 2000's.  Great bit of kit but I have one major problem.  Despite setting the Auto Cue and Auto Play as above all fine, the cue point is always the 1st cue point I've set in the track for the drop and not the beginning beat of the track as per the 2000's.

Is there a way to set auto cue to be at the beginning of the track rather than my in track cue points?

page 19 in manual

    1. Changing the auto cue level
The cue point to be set as the auto cue can be selected using one of the

      methods below.

Setting the cue point by the acoustic pressure level identified as a silent section (8 levels)
      –36 dB, –42 dB, –48 dB, –54 dB, –60 dB, –66 dB, –72 dB and –78 dB

Automatically setting stored cues as cue points
MEMORY: The stored cue point nearest the beginning of the track is set as the cue point for auto cueing.
! When [MEMORY] is set, [A. CUE] lights in white on the main unit

      display.
! The auto cue level setting remains in the memory, even when the

      power is turned off.

1 Press the [MENU (UTILITY)] button for over 1 second. The [UTILITY] screen is displayed.

2 Turn the rotary selector then press it. Select [AUTO CUE LEVEL].

3 Turn the rotary selector then press it.

The auto cue level setting changes.
