The engineers have told me that the beatslicer does NOT measure the tempo of the audio and only rekordbox sources where grid data is available can be used to have the tempo detected automatically.
Hi there,
Can anyone answer this? If i use the beastlier/sampler on the djm 2000 via usb media it syncs as it should, if I'm using a tune from tractor enable the beatslicer for example 4 beats - transfer it to a separate channel its completely out of sync. any ideas
Thanks y'all

Do you have the BPM set to auto? It could be that it's trying to measure the BPM but has none once you transfer the slice to another channel and thus drops out of sync.
If you could shoot a video, that would help to better understand your workflow.
@Jay > There is no BPM showing in the effect timing (sample timing) up at the top right, that's why it doesn't know how long to make the loop.
Pulse thank you.
however should Chanel sync, master sync not sort that out for me? Surely the Djm monitors the beats from the source then determine the length from that?
or do I have to manually tap or dial in the bpm? I'll try again later.
apologies for the barrage of numpty questions
It's been a while since I've used a DJM-2000, but if I recall, yes - selecting that source would automatically have it pick the tempo from the signal if there is no rekordbox grid data for it to use (with the SYNC). Did you give the beatslicer enough time to measure the tempo of the audio signal?
Yes i give it lots of time to detect the signal,
Some times i cant even get a bpm in the read out let alone a wrong one. Both channel, mixer or master do not want to detect for a precise reading/ syncing. do i need to send a midi clock signal from traktor into the djm gor it to sync with the djm?
No, it doesn't receive MIDI clock / tempo signal, it only sends it.
I'm going to ask the product team if they can shed any light on this, not having a DJM-2000 on hand makes it a bit hard to quickly provide an accurate answer for you.
