DJM S9 Left Channel Issue

Im having an issue with my S9 and im curious if anyone else experianced the same issue. My left channel will not read my control vinyl. At first i thought it was an issue with the needle, tonearm or even the control vinyl but then i switched the left tables RCAs into the right channel and it read the record like normal. The bar above the left deck is showing a really bad reading on the left side but when i open up settings and look at the scope its showing everything is fine. Im wondering if the unit is defective or what else this can be. Serato and the S9 firmware is completely up to date.

Just curious what operating system are you running?

It is within the mixer I believe because last night I setup a plx and my S9(as a standalone mixer) for my dad so he could listen to his Pink Floyd album. While listening the left channel would cut out and I could see the cut happening on the main LEDs. The same happened when I was listening to my Diplo album. At first I thought I had to send my headphones in for repair but I found rebooting the S9 made the issue go away for a while.

All firmware and software is up to date. After trying everything to get it fixed and speaking to both reps from Pioneer and Guitar Center it seems as the unit was defective. I'm thinking a bad RCA connector cause in "Internal" mode the music plays fine on the left deck. Had to bring it back to the GC I bought it from and swap it just waiting for the new one to ship to the store now.

Oh please don't tell me my unit is defective. Really hope it is a firmware bug. I don't want to ship mine back and wait for a replacement.

So I did some further testing and I think it is my PLX that is giving me issues. I went and tested it out with a different sound card and I was still getting intermittent left channel issues. Was able to rule out the vinyl tone and needles. I forgot to swap out the RCAs. Gonna test those tomorrow.

I sent my PLX back to the shop yesterday and I am waiting for them to receive it and send out another one. I used a stanton turntable at my workplace on Monday and my s9 didn't have any left channel issues while running mono so I think it was the PLX for sure.

Wow I just found out about this post now.

I have the same problem with my S9 I sent it in for repair on Jan 27. and I'm still waiting to get it back. Any update on your s9. did the left channel start working again?

It turns out Pioneer could not fix it, and they gave me a replacement mixer.

It is kind of scary that they could not fix my unit. That means if this was to happen outside of my 1 year warranty I would have been screwed.  I wish i held off on buying the S9. They are having too many issues.
