Good news everyone!
Pioneer has released a fix for the fader signal problem - you can grab the new firmware here.
Hi,
When one fader is moved in Traktor the sound fades like it should.
When two faders are moved together, regardless the same or different direction, the sound level is jumping.
see video on http://www.liveski.be/pioneer/20150622_220857.mp4 Sorry about the bad sound quality, but you can hear it. It sounds like the faders are shown: jumping. When you see jumping faders, you get jumping audio. The fader(s) on the SX2 are moved on the video each time smoothly.
I've tested also with controllers of other brands without that problem
When you do the same with the gain knobs that goes fine. It looks like a mapping issue.
Tested with Traktor Pro 2.8.0 and 2.8.1 on Win7 and Win 8.1
Regards

Sorry, I've forgot my question...
The question is, what to do to have no jumping audio levels when moving the faders together in Traktor?
Does that happen with any other software (Virtual DJ or Serato)?
No idea, I don't use or have Virtual DJ or Serato (yet).
Is it possible to intall a demo or evaluation version of Virtual DJ or Serato to test this?
I know my new DDJ-SX2 contains a Serato License. I have reasons to not to use that license yet untill this issue is solved.
Serato DJ is free, there is no license; the hardware unlocks the software. Please give that a try.
I've installed Serato. Serato is new for me. I don't see faders on the screen, or I don't know how to display them. Just like most other (rotation) knobs e.g. gain, EQ etc. I miss that. Moving 2 faders together sounds fine.
Note: Traktor used with controllers of other brands sounds fine and you see also both faders on the screen are also moving smoothly, not jumping. So my conclusion it's something in the Pioneer SX2 midi mapping *.tsi file.
It goes fine with controllers of other brands in Traktor, what have to be done so that it goes also fine on the DDJ-SX2?
You could try editing the TSI mappings yourself, but as you're the first to report this, I'm not sure what it might be. I'll pass it to the engineers to investigate. Could you please post some information on your system:
I have investigate the midi data that DDJ-SX2 sends and compared with the data that is sent by controllers of other brands. I see interesting differences, the SX2 data values of the fader level is not smoothly but jumping in comparising with the other controllers. I'v tried already to change the TSI mapping without success.
I will make a report with data, graphs, etc. How can I send a file to you? In the previous layout of this forum last week, it was possible to attach a file. Unfortunately not anymore. I'm a software and support engineer and know how important it is to fix something when complete information is collected. I'll collect the requested information in my report. Shortly, by head: latest drivers, firmware version etc, I've used and stil use my previous laptop i5, 2.4GHz 8GB ram win7 several years with my previous controllers and Traktor.
My report is ready. How to upload?
Zip it all and stick it on a file sharing site or Dropbox, I'll pass that file along.
I put on WeTransfer. The files are available till Juli 6

Thanks for the detailed info - sent to the engineers, I'll keep you posted.
The engineers have noted that they can currently only guarantee performance with Traktor up to version 2.6.8; if you have the opportunity to download and test with 2.6.8 that would determine if it's a communication/hardware issue or a software issue.
Please let me know if you test with 2.6.8 and still have the same problem.
Thank you for the information. I'will test this evening (CEST)
Strange to not to support the latest Traktor version, especially you don't even need a license for testing. In evaluation mode, everything in Traktor works fine for 30 minutes.
What about my report? Sending too much and sometimes wrong midi data? That has nothing to do with the used DJ-software.
I've tested in Traktor 2.6.8 and it shows the same behaviour as in 2.8.0 and 2.8.1
What is the conclusion of your engineers to my report?
I have the same problem with a DDJ sx, and no software error, if you enter the test mode (shift + Deck1 + power) qur moving the fader the second fader that really move, the LED level meter will notin time with the movement.
The engineers have confirmed that both MIDI signals were sent but feel the issue is possibly hardware related. Please contact Pioneer technical support in your region to arrange servicing.
What you see in the video, also sees Hardware level ( CHANNEL LED VU meter ) , if you enter test mode.
I think an update of FIRM is solved , the problem is that few people reported this fault , that depends on how to mix , now I have my DDJ sx technical service waiting for a solution , service technical have no idea why this happens and have sent a report to pioneer , but I look very ugly by pioneer who did not exist, and I bought a DDJ SX to move the fader as required.
It happens also in Serato and Traktor and is very annoying, I had to buy a sound card to use it as an external mixer , the funny thing is that just about the faders, everything else responds to perfection.
And if you tell me that the DDJ SX2 has the same problem , I'm afraid . I know people in forums that have the same problem in both the SX and SX2 . I think if there is a manufacturing defect and SZ working properly , users who report this error and have the DDJ under warranty , they return the purchase price or a trade for a product in good condition.
Please see the official answer I have posted (it is located above, beneath the original post). If you are having these issues, please contact technical support in your region to have your DDJ serviced.
Yves add me to my facebook, look me as Jorge Medrano and talked about this problem and we have our experience. Greetings
Ok, Jorge but I found a lot of persons with your name. Who?
Jorge Medrano (supervisor FTTH jazztel) , who is your name?
I've contacted the shop and they have changed the DDJ-SX2. The replaced unit had firmware v1.04 and not yet the latest official release v1.05
The conclusion after testing, up and downgrading is that v1.05 contains a bug that is not yet present in v1.04
I've made a report that can be found on my site http://www.liveski.be/pioneer/Jumping%20sound%20DDJ-SX2%20firmware%201.04%20vs%201.05%20Part%202.zip
According the official release notes v1.05 is only required for Serato users.
Traktor users can avoid the problem by downgrading to 1.04
It affects also Serato users. E.g. closing fast one fader while moving also an other fader. It happens that the latest value of zero is not sent. So there is still some silent audio instead of muted audio on the closed fader.
Luckily Traktor users can donwgrade to avoid that problem.
Q: Will Pioneer fix that bug? If so, in what period can a fix be expected? It's quite simple to reproduce and notice the problem with Midi OX and Excel.
I have the same problem with the Pioneer DDJ-SX2 and firmware 1.05, I've solved with downgrade to version 1.04, so it is not a hardware problem.
Thanks to Yves V for your feedback.
I reported the problem to support Pioneer in my country.
Pulse, any new solution?
I've asked the engineers to follow-up on this issue.
Already more news from the engineers?
Meanwhile 2 months ago I've made my last report and nothing heard yet from the engineers.
@Yves > As posted as the official response - the engineers identified that both channel signals are sent (as reported in your logs and testing), but the problem is likely with the hardware. While a downgrade of the firmware may not show this issue, I can't provide further assistance as this is what they've recommended as the solution, even with your comments about the firmware versions.
Pulse, I think you miss something. After the official response I went back to the shop with your offical response. The shop replaced the unit by a new one.
Q1
The shop knows this user form and this thread. I assume my previous unit went back to Pioneer for further investigation. What was the result of that?
The new unit has exactly the same problem, just like other units from other users according their reaction here above. That shows clearly there is a structural problem, not only in my unit but in a lot of units. As software engineer I know it can be fixed in the firmware. I guess not all interrupts are handled fine while changing several faders at the same time. It's a typical error on handling different interrupts at the same time. I don't have enough information (source code) to handle it myself.
Q2
Will Pioneer investigate this further and fix it? Or will do Pioneer do nothing and offer no solution to all those users with such unit?
