Change Suggestion On 2000-NXS1 MENU/SORT

after playing with the NXS2's i see that they went back to an easier way to "Sort" from the MENU button like the original 2000

on the NXS1 you have to hit MENU/SORT/and then a category you want to sort

on the NXS2 and 2000MK1 all you have to do is hit MENU and choose a category

much faster and more uniform if all the players had the same menu layout

there is really no not to have a sub menu of SORT and PLAYED STATE, Played state can be put at the bottom of a sort menu if needed, I doubt many people even use that played state feature, So having the NXS1 go back to a simple 1 press of menu to sort would be great

thank you for any consideration being put into this change

@BriChi > Our CDJ chief engineer replied with the following:

The correct specification is as follows:

Only CDJ-2000 has different specification of (Pressing MENU > SORT > category)
Both CDJ-2000NXS and CDJ-2000NXS2 have just pressing MENU > SORT

Therefore, users can have a shorter version on both 2000NXS and 2000-NXS2.

the engineer believe it or not is wrong, I use all the units

the CDJ-2000 you hit MENU and then have your choices like color, bpm, etc...

the CDJ-2000 NXS you have to hit MENU/SORT and then you have your selectio

the NXS 2 MENU and the categories are there

@BriChi > Interesting.  Let's try this.  Be sure all firmware is updated to the latest version.  When you find the time, make a video of the process on each unit being sure to show the model number.  Although this may be an inconvenience, it will be more efficient to show video evidence than to go and forth verbally.

so the 2000 and 2000NXS2 have a similar ease of getting to sort items and the NXS1 you have to hit menu, then hit sort and then your items appear

I just pulled this up on my CDJ-2000 (4.33) and CDJ-2000NXS (1.25) and they both load the same way; pressing the MENU button reveals the full SORT menu without needing to press additional buttons, whether directly connected via USB or over the LINK.

Ahh.... you're in a playlist; the playstate is a top level item.

To this, I say "BFD." ;)

Sorry!

my nexus shows the pic above, I have to hit MENU and then I have to hit SORT. so you're saying you don't actually have to click on "SORT" after many pulse, you can hit MENU and then select something like BPM to sort by?

i understand you may think BFD, but its one less step when you are quick at sorting to load a track as fast as you can. The engineers went back to the original 2000 way of doing it in the NXS2 so apparently they felt the same way i do being the extra step to sort is not really needed,

@Mark, hopefully that makes more sense to the engineer now, you have to be in a playlist where you would want to sort tracks by a specific type like BPM, Color, Artist, etc...
