@Pulse : When it will be available a mac option??? My opinion is that the simplest way would be that rekordbox dj have the recording option within the app like traktor for example, but anyway this might be an work around until it will be available in rekordbox.

S’abonnerWant to record your set while mixing in rekordbox on an XDJ-RX?
That's right, no more recording to the USB2 port -- you can now record within rekordbox thanks to this work-around. It took a bit (okay, a lot) of testing and re-testing of about 20 different software applications, but I finally got a solution that will provide low-latency performance, plus the option to record and/or broadcast while mixing.

@Pulse : Thax Pulse! It work's ;)
@Pulse :I just test the record option and work's fine, but i have a question: how come i can't cue my tracks??? If I try to cue my track's i don't get sound of the cue track. In my headphones there is sound but not the cue tracks.I hope u can understand what I'm trying to say.
If you're following the Mac video, you need to ensure you have the XDJ-RX as the primary output. If not, you wind up having the first two outputs of that multi-out device as the INTERNAL (or whatever you chose) and then the next two will be the master of the RX. Be sure to follow the video exactly.
Una vez terminada la grabación. ¿ Tengo que volver ajustar el AUDIO en la pestaña PIONEER XDJ-RX ? ( MASTER GENERAL )
@javierjrl > I'm not sure I understand... once you're recording, no changes need to be made to the configuration, simply adjust the level if needed.
@Pulse Thanks so much for this. I'm curious what would have better recording quality. Using your method or recording direct to a USB stick with the Pioneer AERO, as I was considering exchanging my new RX-1 for that.
Thanks!
@Pulse I mean if once this new configurazion to record from the PC. If necessary readjust the Master unit like home .
Hello can you please help me, i just followed your mac video on how to record through rekordbox, but my cue on headphones is not working.. but when i change it back to normal settings then it works, please help i am trying to record a new dj mix, its my first time. thanks
Sorry guys, I may have screwed that one up. I'm pretty sure I had tested it and I thought that was the right one, but it's the AGGREGATE you want to create with one of your internals, then just make sure it looks like this order:
This I HAVE tested again just now and it does work. If you need to re-order the outputs, just drag the large RX icon to the left of the Built-In icon.
I'll have a replacement video up later.
so this fixes the headphones due problem? please upload the full setup video so i can do it properly. thanks
I got it working exactly as you said @Pulse by following the video, but the playback quality sounds horrible. I bumped the buffer up to max (1024) in voicemeeter.
It blows my mind that people would need to jump through all these hoops just to record their mixes. Maybe 15 years ago, but this is absolutely crazy to me.
I just bought my RX-1 from Amazon and I still have 2 weeks left to return it. I'm seriously considering exchanging it for the Pioneer AERO (which is cheaper) and has a direct record to the USB stick. Would that not be the best solution?
@Chris > The XDJ-RX was never fully intended as a rekordbox controller, it was created as a MIDI device but the audio interface was developed for output use only, thus no input from the master to record within software. The overwhelming demand by users to have it supported in rekordbox was the only reason that support was added. If you truly wanted a device to be able to control software in the best possible way, you should have purchased a controller designed specifically for that purpose, not a stand-alone unit which could also double as a controller with its MIDI features.
The XDJ-AERO and XDJ-R1 (if that's what you're talking about, not sure if you meant XDJ-RX as they are 3 different units) are also stand-alone units, capable of playing without a computer, but all 3 offer MIDI capability. The only difference with the XDJ-AERO and XDJ-R1 is that they natively allow recording within rekordbox.
The problem you were having with the stutter could be due to a number of factors. I have had this happen a few times on both Mac and PC during my testing but in all cases, it seemed to be resolved by closing the application and restarting -- and it would never return again during that session. Try reading through this knowledge base article for some troubleshooting and optimization tips for your computer to improve performance.
@Nikkil > Video coming this morning!
Sorry about that guys -- the Mac article has been updated to link to the new video.
@Pulse : Now is working fine ;) I can cue my track's now. Thnx for this recording solution.
Thanks so much for your response @Pulse. I actually didn't realize (duh) that a lot of other Pioneer MIDI controllers work with Rekordbox too or I would've just bought one of them instead.
Do most of the Pioneer MIDI controllers allow you to record your mixes direct with Rekordbox software without having to use anything except the USB plugged in.
Thanks again!
Thanks so much.. the video helped.. its working fine.. @pulse
I have the XDJ rx, to do this I need to pay and upgrade to Rekordbox DJ?
@eric > If you want to be DJing within rekordbox, yes.
Hi guyzzz. I installed the XDJ-RX drivers. XDJ-RX is appearing in Audio MIDI setup. Created the aggregate device as stated above. Rekordbox in export mode. Dropdown next to "REC" button is listing no devices. Audio settings are set to agg device. I always use the XDJ-RX with USB sticks. So if I understand well, I can connect my macbook to the USB port, and record over USB instead of the USB2 port on the XDJ-RX? What am I doing wrong for it not to work? Thx!
What's wrong with recording to USB? Just curious ,picking an rx up next week
@Chris > Nothing, just users looking for other options.
So is this also the ONLY option to actually do live streams / broadcasts from the XDJ-RX to the Computer? Only via USB? I red that you can use the Master XLR but I got my monitors connected to it. Master 2 was mentioned as well but then a User wrote that it isnt an out which wondered me?!
@Marcus > You could use the outputs (RCAs if you prefer as your XLR outputs are occupied by your monitors) and connect the cables to an input on another soundcard in your computer.
hi, i want to record to my macbook but what cable can i use (sorry for the noob question). the macboon doesn't have the ethernet cable all it has is bolt or usb slots.
also, i tried to use my external hardrive fo the xdj to read or record doesn't recognize for neither. kinda sucks that it is only for usb stick..
@Milt > your USB devices must be formatted as FAT32 prior to using them with the XDJ-RX
hey guys
Thanks for the instructions but I am hitting a wall. I've installed new drivers, new firmware. I am running MacOS Sierra on my laptop, connecting to the XDJ-RX through thunderbolt to ethernet.
Utilities > Audio Midi set up - XDJ-RX isn't showing up on the left as a audio device.
Please help
is anyone providing any prompt support on these forums? Ive posted several times in the SP-16 section and now here and nothing.
