Pioneer ddj sr issues

I am having issues with the unit. I have tried it on different laptops and the same thing happens.

After about an hour of play, some of the buttons don't work correct, for example if I press sync on the left deck once it opens up the fx option, press it twice it opens up another bttom on the top menu, it just keep doing this with each press till all the buttons freeze on the unit. For example the pad freezes on sample button and all the lights light up and pressing back the hot cue button does something that is totally odd, for example, start both tracks on each deck from the cue point.

 

is there any fix to this or what can be causing it.

Thank you for your patience as our moderator team closed all of the forum topics where the DDJ-SR issue was being discussed. This was a temporary measure to not add any additional information which could further confuse our support teams. With comments from many users, some from the same users posting to multiple topics, it was already difficult to sort out the issues and attempt to diagnose the variety of concerns.

We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with your DDJ-SR not working properly. Our support staff and product managers have reviewed all available information and have concluded that as the issues are not all identical and as they occur across a variety of computer hardware and software configurations, there is insufficient information to draw a conclusion to a specific fault common to all DDJ-SRs, nor a fault within the product firmware(s). As such, we would like to direct all of you to please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to have your DDJ-SR serviced.

We have opened these topics again for discussion or additional questions you may have for us, but please remember to post in accordance with the forum Rules & Regulations.

(The same message will be posted to as many of the DDJ-SR issue threads we can find, sorry if you are subscribed to multiple topics and receive this same information several times.)

You should open a support ticket. If it is under warranty, just exchange it.

it isn't the software I tried it on different computers, I feel it has to do something with the internal firmware.

Starting to dislike Pioneer for this, cant even downgrade because it wouldn't work with the new serato dj. When I call pioneer they don't even know what is the problem.

The downgrade doesn't make it work normaly..
I downgraded it to 1.07.(i have the file) the problem is the same..after 10 minutes the controller
Goes crazy..now i have a 600$ brick.Good job Pioneer,i'm so proud of you.

Calm down...it's Pioneer, not Numark!
If it's broken they will take care of it.
Did you open a support ticket as instructed?
Where did you buy the unit?
How long ago?
It should be covered under warranty.

The clitch was solved ...
The usb cable was the mistery of all those problems.
I used the stock cable and now works perfectly..after 2 hours of testing the SR nothing happend...
First time i used a hama cable and now with the stock cable works fine.thanks pioneer for help.

My knobs are unresponsive, even with the change of cable, my one did the same thing on a few occasions.

@busy2k > Based on your video, I think it's a MIDI glitch and the software is misreading something - and it could be due to the USB cable. If it does the same thing with Serato DJ or Serato DJ Intro, then I'd be more likely to believe it's the hardware.

@rballiram > Have you tried a different computer? Some (PC) users have found that their USB port doesn't provide enough power and as a result the DDJ-SR doesn't respond properly.

Same exact thing happens with mine. I have no pioneer agents in my country. When I spend the money and call pioneer in the usa, they try to tell you is the cable or the laptop and not the ddjsr. They never know what is happening to the unit. Pioneer can do better than than.

Different compute rs have the same response, don't you think I will have tried that to diagnose the problem. For a moment stop and think something is wrong with the ddjsr and not the user or the computer, and then try and fix the issue.

It works fine for a few minutes, or when the unit now start up, but then goes to this issue. You need to fix the issue for us pioneer, or take back these units and send working units.

Guys, we realize that some users are more technically savvy than others but I can assure you that, more often than not, the solution is extremely simple.  I've dealt with users who have said "I've tried everything and it still won't work!" And the solution was a simple reboot or replacing a power cable or replacing a usb cable or updating firmware.  When providing tech support, we have to first check the basics and go from there. That being said, as Pulse stated previously, this issue has been reported to the product team, and he will provide more information when it becomes available.

I've change 10 usb cables,4 laptos,2 pc,firmware update...

reinstall windows,drivers,traktor,serato,usb ports and the same thing happend..

Windows,MacOS.. same shit..

now u came here and tell me to change the usb cable.. i lol'd =))))

All this shit happend after the firmware update..before that my controller worked perfectly..10 hours,12 hours and no issue.

We are around 10 people with same issues,same controller,same software,different countries..

seems to me all you guys at pioneer know is how to change usb cables or computers and can never fix or solve the problems with the units you make, but blame the user or external factors. When are you going to get serious and address and fix your faults pioneer.

@busy2k > I am well aware of the efforts you've made.  I was merely explaining our general process and WHY the first solutions we provide are often simple.  This is obviously not the case in this situation, which is why we have escalated it to the engineering team.

is there an email or a way to contact the engineering team directly to have this issue resolved quickly?

 In the mean time while the unit is not functional or we are waiting for the engineering team to find a solution what can be done. Waiting cost loss revenue in case you guys don't realise this

All of the moderators are working DJ's.  We understand this is a horrible inconvenience and we are trying our best to help you.  There is no directly of communication with the engineers.  The engineering team is based in Japan and most of them do not speak English.  Not only are we dealing with a time zone difference, but there is also a language barrier.  All questions needs to be translated from English to Japanese then answers need to be translated from Japanese back to English.  It can be a long process but it is the most efficient.

 

Also, this issue is not happening to all SR users.  I've updated my SR to the latest firmware and everything is working just fine.
