TRIGS (new category)

copy and paste trigs? You might have some automation on a trig that you want to copy to another trig.

delete automation on a trig. I know you can remove the trigger and add it again but what if you have multiple automation assignments on it, you don't want to lose all of them.

Parameter lock sample to a trig

copy a page of trigs, say page 1 to page 2

SAMPLES (new category)

focus the cursor to the start or end point of a sample while you are editing it (in the sample record / edit section). It can be quite fiddly to find the start / end points when you are zoomed in alot.

jump to a zero point in the waveform to avoid clicks at start / end / loop points (like Elektron offers in the Ocatrack), and also a way to maybe offer small fade ins / outs to samples.

save a set of 16 pads with their loaded samples to a kit. Then, we could reload useful sample combinations at any time. Copying patterns across scenes does not unfortunately bring samples with it, so a kit would be a very useful way to manage your fav sample combinations across projects / scenes. Imagine being able to load a kit on the fly and change samples on the fly - this could lead to very interesting and creative ideas.

Increase recording PPQ so that you can record what you play live more accurately. Currently will not record with no quantize correctly (will play with no quantize, just not accurately capture this)

TRACKS:  (add to existing category)

When you have 2 pads with the same choke number, they do as expected, i.e, one mutes the other when triggered. However, if one of these pads in this choke group is muted it still chokes the other pad(s). Is this the intended behavior? Could we have an option to configure it both ways, or at least to not choke other pads when it is muted

I know you can hold down a trig and see the slice in the waveform view but it would be very useful to also see the pad containing the slice itself light up when in slice pad mode

If you set threshold to play and toraiz is master, sampling starts as soon as you hit play. All good.

If you however have your toraiz slaved over midi (as I do to my tempest) then when I have threshold set to play and hit play on my tempest, sampling does not start.

Under Sequencer or Trig: It would be useful to be able to trig lock "volume"

True. I have to say I'm not a fan of either endless rotary encoders or botched encoders. Give me smooth encoder with a start and end point any day. Much easier to do clean sweeps with - but wouldn't work in this case where the encoders have many functions.

Sample edit: fade in / fade out, cross fade looping, crop - basically need to able to edit samples you have sampled properly without using a computer. Different cross fade looping options would be amazing.

Sample management / Slice: imagine if in slice mode you could load individual samples to each slice - that could be an option for banks - then you'd have 16 banks. You can already kind of do this by making sample chains in advance - but would be great to load different samples into slice positions on the fly. Slices also need to automatically cut at nearest zero crossings to avoid dc clicks.

Envelopes: definitely need a full ADSR filter envelope per track - essential. Would be cool to have an option where it acts like an MPC3000 where any changes you make to filter freq or envelope only happen when sample is retriggered. An amplitude envelope follower would be ace too. Also need an envelope for the DSI filter and a amplitude envelope follower - that would be amazing on the analogue filter!!!

LFO: assignable to any parameter - including samples.

FX: need to able to EQ and have an FX, per track. Better yet an EQ, filter and FX per track. On the filter FX need to have a glide function so that if you p-lock it, it moves from step to step more naturally than just jumping to that frequency like a square wave.

Polyphony: at least 4 so that if you have sample chains loaded into one track split into 16 slices, you can play more than one slice at once.

Sequencer: patterns longer than 4 bars. 8 bars would be good, 16 even better. Using the shift key with the bar buttons, you could have 4 banks of 4 bars per pattern giving you 16 bars per pattern - essential for more variety and less repetition. Alternatively you could have pattern chaining where you chain up to 4 patterns together that will play through together.

- Arpeggiator (could be an option in Scale mode) : the touch strip could drive either the playing rate (resolution : 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8...) or the scale.

- (Very) Basic synthesis

- Sample layering (MPC layers/multisample)

- Quick FX or Live FX : master FX to spice up a loop with a quick fill-in or variation. These would be all existing FX, in a momentary fashion (triggered on the fly), with parameters controlled via the Low Pass Cutoff and Resonance knobs. Deck Stop, Deck Start, Tape Delay, whatever... Think of the SP-404 where you can go crazy with just one loop running, the "DJFX Looper" button engaged, and messing around with the two rotary control knobs...

EDIT / Added these two :

- Not sure about this one, but anyway... In MUTE mode : having the ability to mute/unmute tracks via the bottom step (x0x) buttons. It might make things visually easier than on the 4x4 display.

- Didn't notice current "Touch strip : fx send on user action" suggestion... So the FX section could include a Tape Stop/Start effect as well.
