XDJ-XZ Beat effects selector not functioning after 1.25 firmware update

I just bought the XDJ-XZ and followed the instructions for the firmware update. It seemed to update fine. The beat effects worked before but now, if I have a track playing in deck 1, then I get no output to the master unless the beat effects is selected to master or track 1. The same happens with track 2. Is this a setting that I have messed up? Is there something I'm missing?
