DDJ 400 best connection setup

Hi people, I have my ddj400 connected to a pair of M-Audio BX5 active speakers via a Focusrite Solo card and I understand I won't be able to do the prelistening through headphones as the focusrite has only one stereo output (connected to the speakers) unless I get a signal splitter. I am wondering, in order to use the controller as expected, if I should discard the focusrite in this setup and get a pair of RCA to TS or RCA to XLR directly from the ddj 400 output to the active speakers, so I will be able to use the headphones plugged to the DDJ400.
