My XDJ-700s won't sync with Rekordbox on my laptop via USB cables

Hi everyone. I have just made up a custom DJ deck with 2 x xdj-700s and a Reloop RMX 60 mixer.

For some reason the players won't sync properly to my Rekorbox 6 on my laptop. I have the 2 players connected by USB straight into my laptop. No ethernet is plugged in. It has windows 10 and is an Asus laptop. I have installed the CDJ/XDJ ASIO driver.

If I switch to performance mode in Rekordbox and then on either player press LINK to sync them to the laptop it says USB- Midi on the player screen and I press to enter that. It now shows up and says pc on the bottom of the player however it is still not synced to Rekordbox on the laptop and nothing else comes up on the player screen. Won't select any tracks or designate a player number option when I turn the dial.

The laptop seems to be identifying the players however just won't connect to them correctly. I have selected the ASIO driver in Rekordbox and the output players as 1 and 2 in preferences. Have watched every tutorial and info i could find but as yet no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Did you get any luck solving this one?

I'm having similar problems trying to link my new xdj to laptop.

Thanks

It sounds like you've done a lot of the right things to set up your XDJ-700s with Rekordbox, but there's a glitch in getting everything to sync properly. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Ensure Firmware is Updated:

  • Make sure that the firmware on both of your XDJ-700s is up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues with Rekordbox.

2. Check USB Cable Quality:

  • Ensure that the USB cables you're using are of good quality and functioning properly. Try swapping out the cables if you have spares, just to rule out a faulty cable.

3. Use Rekordbox in Export Mode First:

  • Since you're using USB and not Ethernet, try starting in Rekordbox's Export Mode (instead of Performance Mode). See if the players recognize the connection in this mode. This might help narrow down whether the issue is specific to Performance Mode.

4. Driver Reinstallation:

  • Even though you've installed the CDJ/XDJ ASIO driver, it's worth uninstalling and then reinstalling it. Sometimes, drivers can get corrupted or might not install correctly on the first attempt.

5. Check MIDI Settings:

  • On your XDJ-700s, make sure the MIDI settings are correctly configured. Go into the utility settings on the XDJ-700s and check the MIDI channels and options. Ensure they are set to communicate properly with Rekordbox.

6. Try Different USB Ports:

  • If possible, try connecting the XDJ-700s to different USB ports on your laptop. Some ports might not supply enough power or might have connectivity issues, especially on laptops.

7. Rekordbox Preferences:

  • Double-check the preferences in Rekordbox. Ensure that the correct audio device is selected, and the input/output channels are assigned correctly to each player. Under "Preferences > Audio," make sure the XDJ-700s are set as the primary audio device, and the ASIO driver is selected.

8. Firewall and Security Software:

  • Sometimes, security software or firewall settings can block USB communication. Ensure that Rekordbox and the XDJ ASIO driver are allowed through your firewall.

9. Test on Another Laptop/PC:

  • If possible, test the setup on another computer. This can help determine whether the issue is with your laptop or with the players themselves.

10. Contact Pioneer Support:

  • If none of the above solutions work, you might want to reach out to Pioneer’s support. They may have additional steps or software updates that could help resolve the issue.

These steps should help you get your XDJ-700s properly synced with Rekordbox on your laptop. If the problem persists, it might indicate a more specific hardware or software conflict that Pioneer support can assist with.

Ensure that you've configured your Rekordbox settings correctly for the XDJ-700s:

  • ASIO Driver Selection: Double-check that "CDJ/XDJ ASIO Driver" is selected as the audio device under the Audio tab in Preferences.
  • Output Channels: In Preferences > Audio, make sure that Players 1 and 2 are set as the output channels.
  • Controller Settings: Ensure that under Controller, your XDJ-700s are recognized. If they don’t appear, try reconnecting the USB cables or resetting Rekordbox.

(It seems like you're asking about Sprunki Clicker, but there's no widely known or official game by that exact name?

Dear Support!
"wait" text is written on the display for a long time when searching between categories. usage 240Gb M.2 external kingston ssd, 100Gb filled with music. The CDJ900nxs was able to search very quickly with the same, what can be done with the XDJ700 device to speed it up?

Best regards

Verify that the XDJ-700s are properly set up in Rekordbox:

Verify that the audio device "CDJ/XDJ ASIO Driver" is chosen in the Preferences menu's Audio tab.
Distribution Routes: To ensure that Players 1 and 2 are selected as the output channels, go to Preferences > Audio.
Parameters for the Controller: Make sure that your XDJ-700s are listed as recognized under Controller. If they still don't show up, try resetting Rekordbox or reattaching the USB cords.

@Helene Hadsell Helene, that's true, but the XDJ-700 does not support full Rekordbox LINK over USB alone.

When you press LINK on the player and it shows USB-MIDI, you're entering MIDI control mode, not true LINK mode!

You may need to connect via Ethernet (Pro DJ Link) instead of USB only. The XDJ-700 only uses USB for MIDI control, retro bowl college, while browsing and selecting music via Rekordbox requires a LAN.
