DJM REC problem

Hi,

I have updated all my firmware.  I am running NXS2 mixer and NXS2 CDJ.

When I go USB to lighting and I record into DJM REC, when I go to play it back, everything sounds like a train wreck.  Almost like it's stuttering or doubling the audio with a delay on one channel.

I unplugged the USB/Lightning and as a test recorded into the iPhone microphone and everything sounded fine.

As a second test, I used my old recording setup which was booth monitor to attenuator, attenuator to 1/8", 1/8" to lightning adapter into phone.  That recording sounded fine as well.

The only recording that seems to have this train wreck, stuttering is DJM 900nxs2 usb -> Lightning... Which I believe was the intention of this app and software.

Please advise or assist... Or give me back my $10.. lol

@Greg > Please try as @Jonathan suggests; an official Lightning cable. If you still experience problems, please file an inquiry ticket here and our rekordbox support team will be able to gather some additional information to assist you in resolving this issue.

Maybe we should delete the app and reinstall?

I cannot confirm the Sound issues, while my recording is at a very low volume when using the lightning Connection.

FWIW I tried this again last night (twice) and had zero issues. I'm thinking the lightning connection cable was not perfect and it needs to be. I cleaned out my phone port and made sure the cable was plugged in securely. Could be the issue? Not sure, unless Pioneer has some insight on this if they encountered it in testing.

@Trainwrecked > Please try using a different lightning cable to see if that may be the culprit and let us know if it helps.

@Frank > Is the volume of the recording low due to your settings or are you experiencing a problem with the app?

@Jonathan > Please keep us informed if this issue persists.

@Mark.
Thanks for replying....
The volume recording doesn't seem to be low because of the setting. In rekordbox recording looks ok. The volume can be influenced with the PC utility via the USB output level.
In regards to the DJM-REC the only way it looks like I can influence the recording volume is via the Faders and the Trim. While I have to to the maximum (including clipping) to reach at least the 0db level on the app.
When balancing the volume on the DJM900-nxs2 correctly (0db to 2db) the App is showing -18db recording volume. Any suggestion what settings I may need to have checked?

Thanks

Hey guys , can anyone tell me if they are having the same issues with the djm rec app as me.

Im using a djm900nxs2 connected to an iphone 6s running ios11.

Whenevere I record a mix I get a chrystal clear recording , but when you listen back to it , there is a strange distortion which occurs at random times throughout for a second or so each time.

This happens in all the different file formats and never at the same times.

I get no issues when recording with my Tascam cdr.

Any ideas ? , Thanks

Greg -

I am almost positive this is a lightning cable/connectivity issue. Make sure you are using an apple OEM cord that is in great condition. I actually bought a new cord just for using DJMREC and it has given me no issues since.  Also make sure your usb port and phone port are both clean and the cord is plugged in securely.

It would be great if DJM-Rec could livestream mixes to Facebook and YouTube

You can - all you do is stream through that application, the audio will be picked-up from the USB source. It doesn't use the REC app itself to stream.

Hi all,

Used DJM-REC a few times with no issues with No issues... Hiwever last few recordings have all played back at a slower tempo than what I was mixing at - I was mixing at 177bpm give or take, but when listening back it plays at around 150bpm??? Any ideas what could cause this?

Sounds like you recorded at 48kHz but played the file back at 44.1kHz.

Hello Pioneer, I had exactly the same problem, BPM is slower than the music recorded when i play it.

I actually did a test (recorded exacty 1 minte of a song), then when I play it DJM-REC plays 1 minute and 6 seconds!

I tried recording in different formats (WAV44/48 and AAC) but it is always the same issue.

And regarding your answer, I can't control the frequency at which I play the file (48 or 44Hz).

I didn't have this problem before. Any ideas?

Hello, are there any updates ready for DJM REC? My phone updated to iOS 13 automatically, and I’ve found out they’re not compatible...

We're aware of the issue with iOS 13.x and will be updating the app shortly.

Hi there,

I am recording from a djm900nxs2 (firmware is up to date). Everything works smoothly, the app recognizes the device and I start recording the digital signal. Then, roughly every 3 to 4 minutes the digital signal jumps to analog and stays there. To get it back to digital I have to unplug and plug again which then of course stops the recording. I have tried to play around with the settings but can't figure out why this is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am having exactly the same issue.  @Pioneer, please can you confirm which version of the DJM-REC iOS app this will be rectified in?  I am currently on v1.2.2.
