If you add a bit of zoom to the main output window this resolves the issue of 4:3 / 16:9
All videos will be pretty much the same size!

Rekordbox Video - Side fill effect for 4:3 and other non 16:9 aspect ratio videos
A quick search yields a request from 2 years ago, but this is really -the- killer effect for most of us doing video. Nothing looks cheesier than a bunch of black space when you're mixing older (or newer, see examples below) 4:3 AR videos with newer ones that are 16:9.
There are even current videos shot in silly ARs that really need this effect to make your videos sets look seamless. Compare modern stuff like LCD Soundsystem "Tonite", Vance Joy "Lay It On Me", or Foster The People "Come Sit Next To Me". These look great on OSX/macOS w/ Mix Emergency but I keep pulling back from using RB Video all the time because it can't match that.

You are correct, zooming will make them match a bit better.
However, this is like the old movie days where you could have the whole picture (widescreen) vs something that was chopped off (pan and scan). The side fill stuff allows you to not have to chop anything off via zoom.
So the hope is one day they can figure it out so we just have to make sure the videos are encoded correctly vs guessing which zoom certain videos might need.

I've just left the zoom on for all videos. Really nothing important gets cut off.
It would be nice if RB did this automatically - but it's a solution that I've done 2 video gigs on like this with no problems :)
