Please check the 3rd and 5th items on this list.
I just bought a DDJ 400.
When i connect it to Djay PRO software everything works perfectly.
However if i open Rekordbox Performance it says DDJ400 connected when i plug it in my Macbook (2013 Retina) but i cant do anything with it. Not a single button works but it does show up in midi devices.
I checked to see for firmware but none is needed says the pioneer website.
My XDJ RX works perfectly with both programs.
Some support would be nice

3rd is fine, the 5th item doesnt work. The DDJ is showing in light blue color but i cant delete it, if i try to make a new midi configuration the drop down menu lets me select Pioneer DJ Corporation but in the model dropdown menu there is nothing to select.
Also tried reinstalling the drivers but no succes.
@Yasin > I'm not sure where you're getting stuck on the 5th item; you said "Drop down menu lets me select Pioneer DJ Corporation" ... where are you selecting that?
Here ^my DDJ shows up but with a light blue color, i cant delete it nor can i change it
Here^If i make a new configuration (by pressing the plus?) i can select Pioneer DJ corporation on the first drop down menu in the top right corner but the lower one on the right is empty
Have just recorded a set in Djay pro so in that program it works fine, every button :/ very strange
@Yasin > I think you misunderstood the MIDI function -- you don't click the + icon to create a new MIDI device, you drop-down the configuration editor:
Still nothing, if i do that the DDJ400 apears in light blue color, rekord box says DDJ400 connected but no buttons work..
Okay, can you repeat those steps with the DDJ-400 disconnected? In other words, open the MIDI Studio window, click the drop-down, click New Configuration and create a new one. It should then be blank, other than the possible IAC Driver item (with the red top).
When you connect the DDJ-400, it should then appear as a new, solid, item. If it does not appear immediately after connection, or is faded, please let me know. Here's an example of my new configuration with only the DJM-900NXS2 connected:
Hey again,
Few months later, this was getting on my nerves too much so i just decided to use Djay Pro 2 as the DDJ400 as no problem in that software.
Decided to try again, did all the steps. It shows up as light blue (like your DJM900 on your screenshot).. In Rekordbox it says that tge DDJ400 is connected but doesnt do anything.
Seems like a faulty device but then again it wouldnt work either in Djay Pro.
Meanwhile i updated OS X, updated Rekordbox, still nothing.. Wow
And my XDJ RX works fine with both.. Very strange
When you say that rekordbox shows it as connected, are you looking at the audio device, or the Control Device Information at the bottom of the Audio preference page?
Like if i plug it in, all the lights of the controller go on for a few second
then every light turns off, the blue release fx button goes on and the hot cue/beatloop/beatjump/sampler button are pressable
and rekordbox shows (in the down left corner) DDJ-400 connected.
Also when i press the midi button it shows the device, but i cant "learn" anything and all the fields are empty.
Audio panel in setting also shows the device
Does it show the DDJ-4000 in the Control Device Information at the bottom of the Audio preference page?
All same here. Absolutely ridiculous. And yes, it shows DDJ-400 in the control device - audio preferences.
@Sebastian > Are you on a Mac or PC?
MAC
@Sebastian > Did you try the steps above to create a new MIDI profile?
Yes, and I have the same thing. DDJ-400 is blue and can't remove it.
@Sebastian > Please file an inquiry ticket here and our rekordbox support team will be able to gather some additional information to assist you in resolving this issue.
I have exactly the same issue. Brand new DDJ400. Won’t work at all with Reckordbox but works fine with DJ pro. Have tried all of the above options..... please help!
Ultimately I downloaded Rekordbox v. 5.4.3 and it works now.
System is Mojave 10.14.
Really sad that later/newer versions of Rekordbox do not properly support newer versions of Mac OS.
DDJ 400 not connected. Same issue.... i have pc not mac plese help me out...

@Vilius > Please ensure that you have all updates and service packs applied, and also be aware that Microsoft discontinues support for Windows 7 as of January 14th, 2020.
Hi to all, I have a new PC with Windows 10. I've installed the Rekordbox vers. 6. Well my DDJ-400 stop to play the track after some seconds and all freeze, I can't close the program also.
hi, similar issue - i have brand new DDJ 400 and brand new Acer A5 laptop with windows 10. using rekordbox v6 (and same thing with v5) - plug it in all the lights come on then go off (apart from blue fx button). device manager on laptop recognises DDJ 400 and says it is working, but audio preferences in rekordbox do not have DDJ 400 in the drop down to select from.
the DDJ 400 works fine in my work laptop (HP) using same cable.
have tried in all 3 USB ports on Acer laptop, restarted, reinstalled etc.
am very annoyed.
@Daniel > If you're using a computer with an 11th gen Intel CPU, please check the Acer website for audio device driver updates as our engineers have found that some of the default drivers have a conflict that causes other audio and MIDI devices to not be recognized by the system. Dell has already patched theirs, I've not yet checked other brands.
thanks - i checked Acer site for my model laptop and there seems to be two updates one for 'Audio driver' (500MB) and one for 'audio console driver' (8MB) - these are both provided by Realtek. should i get both of these?
The "console" may just be a software application for managing the device, but I don't see any harm in applying available updates!
have run main audio driver update, restarted computer, makes no difference. there is no 'set up' item or .exe file to run the console update in the folder so i dont really know what to do with that
Sorry, I'm not sure. I know another user posted today that Acer had an audio driver update that he was able to apply and it worked afterwards. Please check their driver page or if you need further assistance with the update, contact their support team.

@ Pioneer DJ, I'm using Dell and experiencing exact problem, could you provide a link to Dell's audio device update/patch? Thanks
