RMX 1000 & DJM 900 NEXUS

HI,

I have purchased a rmx 1000 and linked it up to the send and return of the djm 900 nexus.

I have it connected using TRS jack cables and have the volume button on the rmx set to "send and return"

I have the levels set to 0 on the input and output of the rmx 1000 and I have the djm connected to KRK monitors through a KRK sub from the master output.

When I have the music playing it sounds perfectly balanced, as soon as I press the "on off" button on the mixer (to turn on the send/return) the right speaker becomes ever so slighly quieter than the left... as I turn up the master to make the music louder, the volume bars on the mixer become noticeably unbalanced....and left is clearly louder with slight sound degradation in the right.

As soon as I turn off the send/return on the mixer, the sound levels out again.

Any ideas please?

RMX is on the latest firmware and so is the DJM.

Also the send/return is outputting through the master.

Thank you

Alex

Good evening,

Thank you, I have watched this previously, doesn't offer any advice regarding my concern.

Try swapping the L/R cables on one end of the SEND and see if the imbalance changes. If it changes with the SEND cables swapped, then one of those cables is the culprit. If it does not, put them back and swap the L/R on one end of the RETURN. If it changes with one of the RETURN cables swapped, then one of those cables is the culprit, or the RMX itself. To narrow it down, connect the RETURN cables to the SEND to make a cable-only loop and see if there is an imbalance when engaging the loop. If so, then one of the cables is the problem. If it remains balanced, then it's possible the RMX is the cause and would require servicing.

You can contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to have your hardware inspected and/or serviced.

Good morning

Thank you, for this suggestion. I have tried all the cable swapping like you suggested ending with the send/return cable loop and this indicates the RMX is the problem and would need servicing.

I have contacted the person I bought the item from :(

Thank you for your help!

Glad you were able to do the testing, but sorry to hear the result is the RMX being faulty!
