DDJ 1000 mini-crash, lost waveform/artwork, pads turn purple

I see the latest update on this common issue was Nov 2019 - did the engineers find a fix? My DDJ 1000 is 2 weeks old, latest firmware, rekordbox 6, on a new, up-to-date MacBook Pro. I’ve been able to replicate the error every time by spinning the jog wheel fast and repeatedly on a playing track, such that it plays quicker - usually 5-6 fast spins causes the problem (this wasn’t what I was doing the first time the error occurred, although I was moving the jogs, but is a reliable way of replicating it, and could be good for the engineers to troubleshoot). I use an oyaide USB cable, and have tried the other USB port on the controller, and experimented using the factory supplied USB cable and various ports on laptop - in all configurations I can replicate the error, on both decks 1 and 2. It seems to be that one of the controller/software/laptop (?) gets overloaded with information caused by the rapid jog inputs, so glitches to preserve audio playback? The problem being after jog inputs stop the error isn’t fixed - the hot cues and all other pages of the pads turn purple. Is this a case of data overload somehow and is there a fix or update from the engineers? Although my Mac is new and within the system requirements the fan still runs constantly, not sure if this is related? As others have stated, it really is a worry when this is marketed as a controller capable of use in professional (live) settings? Thanks for any help or update!

Hi - thanks for the quick response. With all due respect, from searching the issue online, users with the same experience were told the same over 5 months ago - to patiently await an update.

Whilst I can still return the product (which I really don’t want to do if possible - it’s fantastic aside from this fundamental problem), can you provide any reassurance whatsoever that a fix is imminent? Or perhaps even an expected date?

Can you confirm it’s a software issue and nothing to do with hardware?

Are there any work arounds / settings changes that can be made at this stage to minimise the occurrences?

The jog wheels are obviously a major positive for this controller, but if their use causes the unit to crash this really is a serious issue that could render the control useless in a professional environment.

Thank you for your time.

Sorry, I can't release the date but the engineers are testing the fixed firmware and it should be available soon. Thank you.

Ok, that’s positive news, fingers crossed. So it’s believed to be a (fixable) firmware issue and nothing hardware related? Thanks!

From what I've been told, it's something with drivers or firmware.

Ok thanks - I’m definitely using firmware 1.07, would you mind explaining how I check I have the latest drivers (should be 1.1.0 I believe) and how to update on a Mac if not the latest?
