Did you have the Sync Manager enabled before connecting the drive where the ratings had been updated on the XDJ?

Update collection doesn't make any update
I have two problems:
1. Sometimes rekordbox deleting stars which you made on XDJ/CDJ in the moment when your USB is being connected. Auto export is OFF
2. Even If you have information about stars on the device "update collection" button is not working. I made some stars rating in the device tree in rekordbox, but when I tried to sync it with the main collection by using "update collection" nothing happened. I also tried to use "sync manager" and "cue grid info" button, but it not synced the stars rating and any tags.
So two question: how to set rekordbox to not deleting stars ratings from USB and how to import stars rating from the device?
"Update collection" from USB doesn't make any changes in the main collection. Not only for stars but for all tags. Nothing happened when you are using this feuture

Yes. I'm using sync manager to manage my flash drive playlists, but "auto export" in settings is off

Hmmm... did you manually sync or had you clicked the update collection button first?

same problem with 6.6.4
Update collection from usb to main collection does not do anything besides creating duplicate playlists. It is not updating star ratings or comments.

I exported from my collection to the USB drive. Installed rekordbox on another machine and updated the comments of tracks in playlists on the USB stick. When importing the playlist in the original machine, the playlists got updated, but the comments and star ratings did not update, besides the interface showing a pop up with progress bar for updating the tracks.

"Update collection" is to bring the changes you made on the USB drive in a CDJ / XDJ back into that same origin collection, not from another rekordbox library.
