No audio from S11 in OBS

Following the instructions from this page: https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005284503-Streaming-with-OBS-DJM-DVS-Mac-

I've been unable to get the audio from Rekordbox/S11 to appear in OBS.

Getting the audio in from the DDJ-1000 has been no problem since initially setting it up.

Am I missing something?

MacOS 10.15.7

OBS 26.0.2

Soundflower v2.0b2

DJM-S11 1.02

Rekordbox 6.2

Also tried setting ' audio monitoring' to monitor and output but no luck

Hey Ves,

That guide is out of date; I just re-read it and somehow I've cut out a step because it doesn't actually get the Soundflower audio routed in from anywhere.

I'll look over it and create a new one for the S11 in the next day or so.

Was there a guide created for the S11?

I'm having the same issue. Seems that DJM-S11 output is not working as an OBS input source.  I even tried using DJM-S11 with Audacity and the same thing I get no audio output.  I just updated to the latest firmware Ver. 1.03 also and that didn't do anything. What is the fix for this?

I'm using a Macbook Pro 13".  It worked previously with my DJM-S9 but now I cannot use it as an audio source in OBS with the DJM-S11. My laptop has the latest DJM-S11 drivers installed and it see's the DJM-S11,  and I can select it as the input source but no audio passes through.  It does not work like the DJM-S9 used to.  What changed? Is there perhaps a new firmware update that can fix this issue?

Any updates on a fix to get audio from DJM-S11 as a usb audio input source? Here is the screen shot of the OBS set up. It all shows up but no audio is being passed into OBS. This worked fine with my DJM-S9 but not working with my new DJM-S11.  On the DJM-S9 I had one usb(USB A) for Rekordbox on my dj computer and then had the other usb(USB B) going into my other laptop which I stream from. I was able to get the audio from DJM-S9 as an audio source in to OBS. However this no longer works with the DJM-S11. I think it has to do with the driver for the S11, another update should be done to fix this.  In Theory it should work since the USB ports are to be used for two computers to switch between dj's for non stop music continuation but something is wrong here.

@OSCURE > Do you have any outputs assigned for REC-OUT?

Yes. I do have the Rekordbox setting to USB 5/6 REC-OUT.

Hey Pioneer DJ!! @PULSE >

Any updates??  I've also contacted your technical support and created a ticket but I have not even received an email or response yet.  They told me to use the forum and I have but nobody is responding.

Seems that the current audio driver for the DJM-S11 has issues.  I am able to get playback through the DJM-S11 with OBS but using the DJM-S11 as an input source does not work.  I also tried it with Audacity had the same result only playback works but using it as a input source does not. Can we please get a USB driver for the DJM-S11 that works.  The DJM-S11 USB ports should work as a soundcard with input and ouputs. Just like the DJM-900NXS2 and other of the Pioneer mixers do.  Please help solve this. Thank You.

Sorry @OSCURE, when the S11 is used with Serato, there's much complexity in the audio inputs / outputs, especially when it comes to the effects and DVS, so as such, the best thing I can recommend for you is to use the new Serato audio sharing feature:

@PULSE >  I'm not using Serato I am using Rekordbox on my dj computer and OBS on my streaming computer.  I don't see a setting like this on Rekordbox.

Unfortunately, much like the S9, you'll need to use a 3rd party app such as Loopback or SoundSiphon. I'm still trying to dig into why OBS isn't picking up on the 5/6 outputs from the S11 natively, and without an app like Jack (specifically its router function to remap ports), if OBS only wants to listen in on ports 1/2, the options are limited.

@Pulse > Yes I agree with You and I might just have to purchase one of those 3rd party apps but natively it should just act as a sound card.  The strange thing is I can see input levels in my system preferences> Sound > Input (on my mac) however it doesn't get routed to the mac or any software like OBS, Audacity, or even Zoom.  This I find strange.  It looks like it wants to get input but doesn't. I think it can be the way the driver is currently written not allowing input thru.  My DJM-S9 worked fine this way but now my new DJM-S11 does not which also doesn't make sense. I hope we can figure this out. Thank You.

Part of the problem is with apps that can't address channels greater than 1/2. Blackhole has a remapping feature on its list, but I'm not sure why our team didn't include the REC OUT on channels other than 5/6, (probably due to timecode input), so I'll certainly pass that along.

We the DJM-S9 worked fine that way. I don't know why they would downgrade the connectivity on the DJM-S11.  This is why I think it is a driver issue that just needs an update.

@Pulse any updates on getting a new guide to set up the Pioneer DJM-S11 with OBS.  I haven't seen anything posted yet.  The older guide you guys have is our dated with the available software for mac to route the audio.  I still can't get the DJM-S11 to show up with OBS as input source and pass audio.

It's probably not what people want to hear, but the easiest way is to purchase Loopback. Problem(s) solved in under a minute. It will cost you about £100 for the pleasure though

As I posted back on Dec. 4th, you'll need a 3rd party app capable of re-routing the audio; Loopback is fantastic, SoundSiphon does the same thing at a lower price (but isn't as polished, IMHO).

Regarding this comment: If you're on PC, it's using ASIO and you'll need the ASIO plugin for OBS for it to work.

I am using this on a PC and tried the ASIO plugin for OBS with no luck. While the inputs do show up in OBS, the ASIO driver for s11 does not have muti application support. so you can only use it in DJ software or OBS at one time... not both.

I missed this last message. Which is sad as I'll have to keep using my external soundcard, which wil take up an additional USB port.

I use wirecast now instead of Obs ,because of this reason ,u can download wirecast from torrents, free

you can re route channels with wirecast software to 5/6 , you don’t have to install anything else or do anything on your Mac

hello y'all.

i just got my s11 and it wouldn't work in obs grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr anyways it was as i suspected, it  needed a driver in obs. This appeared to work for me.

The s11 uses asio output driver you need a driver,

download it here: https://github.com/Andersama/obs-asio/releases/download/v3.1.0b/obs-asio-installer_3.1.0.exe

just download the driver install it in obs - just follow the directions on screen and good luck. dj slowbridge

Any updates on this? I'm going through similar issues.

M1 macbook pro, S11, Rekordbox controlled with CDJ's (and haven't tried yet, but will also use DVS as well as USB into the CDJ's), and routing through blackhole. No sound coming out of the s11 into blackhole, the aggregate device, or any combinations into OBS.

As far as I know, loopback / SoundSiphon is the only software option. Alternatively, you could get a cheap audio interface and go down that route.
