The backup databases would have been in the same folder as the original database on the external drive. Have you looked for the backups there?
Hi, I have a big problem. I worked for 3 years or even longer now with an external hard drive where my master database was located. I am on a mac, using an external HDD encrypted APFS. My music files are on the same hard drive. Additionally I have a SSD for DJing. I synchronize and export my music to that SSD. Everything was alright even for a heavy user like me. I am using Rekordbox 5.
Today I opened Rekordbox and it asked for the master database. I doublechecked my external hard drive, but it was plugged in and decrypted. It was gone. I tried it a couple of times but Rekordbox still couldn't find the database on the external drive. It suggested to open the internal database. I clicked yes and it opened my very old 2018 database from the MacBook. My next idea was to copy the database from my DJ-SSD drive, so I plugged it in but then something horrible happened. It synchronized and deleted all the newer playlist. Without creating a backup.
I tried to find a Pioneer folder on the external HDD but could not find it. Neither a hidden .Pioneer nor a datafile.edb or datafile.backup.edb file. Please help me. What can I do?
